Wyndham Rose Hall Golf and Tennis Resort

I am trying to get more information about this resort. I have heard that the rooms are not very nice, so I was wondering about a junior suite. Has anyone stayed there since they re-modeled? I would like any information I can get. Thanks!

Stayed at Wyndham last June, the room was adequate, clean and average. We had a golf view, did not see the suites but the ocean view rooms looked like a good location!! Loved the new pool area with the waterslides and swimup bar. Nice little beach, water was great!! Food was very good, some people are not all-inclusive so there are restaurants you can order off the menu (as all inclusive), besides the usual buffet. Had fresh fruit and ice cold towels delivered at poolside. This is probably the only place in Montego Bay that I would stay at again.
Negril is my favorite area.

My dad, brother and his kids, then 3 and 4 and my husband, my kids 8 and 12 then and myself went between Christmas and New Years 1999 (12/98-1/99). The resort had just open 2 weeks before our arrival a waterpark with several jacuzzis. It was great for the kids. We all ended up staying there most of the trip. The sea water was a little disappointing with seaweed but they had kayaks and various water stuff for us. The weather was great the entire time. The rooms were good. The hotel managed to place us next to each other despite continually telling us they would not guarantee it. Food was ok (buffet are mass-produced ovbiously--go in with your eyes open) but at holiday time restaurants were crowded. One restaurant in particular was outstanding--really a 5 star but there was a trick to getting a reservation. You had to call at 8 am in the morning and then the phone would be busy and then when you got through at 9 it would be booked. My dad had a fit one day about it and they put us in. Squeaky wheel thing. Lots of places to get food. It's close to the airport--a good thing--some resorts are a 2 hour bus ride--bummer with kids. And we had huge flight delays -24 hours coming home due to a record blizzard in Chicago that screwed up the entire air flight system in the US --right at holiday time. But we stayed at the hotel unlike those who were 2 hours away who hung out at the airport!!! Golf was fun. Husband, son and brother played. Must have a caddy-required--playing on a mountain side. Husband love the lessons at the driving range. For the price of a bucket of balls he got private lesson with a pro. No one got sick and all in all it was a very good time. Lots of R & R. We weren't there for nightlife and I doubt it was very good there. Staff friendly; drinks and food plentiful. Weather good.

Good luck

went there two years ago in Dec. It was the worst place in terms of service and hospitality. Golf course is a cow pasture. Jamaica is not a very nice place to visit. Went to restaurants and they had different menus according to who you were.

Wyndham has recently spent a fortune remodeling including a very nice water slide area for kids and a swim up bar for adults. I have never heard of a special menu for "who you are" thats bull!! Wyhndam offers all-inclusive or european which includes no food credit. Go for the all-inc with kids. Rooms are very nice and golf course is mountain side and very adequate. Some people dont like jamaica but this property is just fine, its one of few in Mobay that I would stay at. Rennaisance in Runaway Bay is also great for kids.
