Wyndham Aruba

I'll be staying at the Wyndham in May. Can anyone offer any comments on the hotel. How's the weather in May. This will be my first visit there. Any other tips or advice would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Jim: The weather is basically the same all year round. It's dry, it's hot, it's great.

The Wyndham is a fine hotel on Palm Beach, which is the best location.

Aruba is arid, not lush and tropical. It is great and most anyone that's been there would agree.

I'd perform a search on "Aruba" and you'll find a wealth of info on the site.

Have fun!
Jim, We stayed at the Aruba Wyndham last Sept. and loved it. The weather is the same year round hot and dry. The Wyndham is in the process of redoing the rooms on each floor. We were given a room on the 9th floor that was in bad need of new carpet and paint so we requested another room. They were very helpful and gave us another room that was much nicer and cleaner. The dock for watersports is a short walk down the beach from the Wyndham. Everyone on the island is very friend and helpful. We loved Aruba and would go back anytime. If you would like more info, just email me.

We will also be staying at the Wyndham at the beginning of May which is at the tail end of our vacation. We were at the Americana last year, which is on the same beach and we were very disappointed the lack of clarity in the water[everyone on the internet raved about Palm Beach]. We are also going to be staying at the Costa Linda Resort and we found that beach to be much nicer and quieter[fewer tourists]. There is a public beach up the coast where we went on a snorkelling trip and it was gorgeous and accessible by public bus. We are also going to nearby Bonaire which is one of the top spots for snorkelling in the world. The weather is hot, windy and sunny all year round, especially windy! There are scads of organized trips, of which we did two last year. Now that we have a better understanding of Aruba we will rent a vehicle and explore on our own. You must see the Natural Bridge on the other side of the island from the hotels. What was also outstanding was the friendiness of the people and the low crime rate. You can walk anywhere without fear of being accosted. Enjoy!

Hi Jim: We have been to Aruba in May and in January. In May it is extremely hot and the greenery they do have on the island is not as lush this time of year. There is good snorkling at Baby Beach and at DePalm Island. Palm Beach is the lushest of the beaches with planted palm trees. It is also the busiest with Caribbean bands etc. playing at many of the resorts. I agree renting a car and exploring on your own is alot of fun in Aruba. Chez Mathilde and L'Scale were our favorite restaurants. Walking the beach at midnight was probably our favorite thing to do. E-mail directly if you have any questions. Karen
