Which two islands ?

I want to visit two Caribbean islands, one week on each (Jamaica excluded). Priorites are beaches and at least some nightlife. Which two islands would be easiest to do? Are there any that are connected easily by boat or is it necessary to fly.

Anguilla & St. Martin -- tons of nightlife in St. Martin; some in Anguilla (& 33 fantastic beaches); connected by a 20 minute ferry that runs every 1/2 hour & costs $10.

St. Martin and Anquilla is a good choice. St. Martin/St. Bart is also good. For something very different, you might want to try Guadeloupe and Iles des Saintes. Guadeloupe is beautiful, with rain forests, nice beaches, good restaurants, etc. Very French. Not much English spoken. Iles des Saintes is like a mini-St.Bart's with a small village where there are bakeries, cafes, etc., etc. It's reachable by ferry. A great island for a romantic getaway. (Picture yourself riding a scooter up and down mountain roads with a baguette and a bottle of wine sticking out of the beach bag strapped to the back of the scooter.) Not much nightlife though.

You want two islands with a combination of great beaches and nightlife?

Anguilla & St. Martin - sounds like a broken record, but probably the best combo. Include a daytrip to St. Barts.

USVI & BVI - Why do only two, when you can island hop between St. Thomas/St. John to Virgin Gorda, Tortola, Peter Island, Jost Van Dyke, Anegada. Easy and cheap ferries connect all these great islands. Anegada is an easy $59 flight from Tortola, has 10 miles of deserted beach.

Antigua & St. Kitts/Nevis - This is a great combination. This is an easy flight for under $100. In Antigua you must do Shirley Hieghts. A day trip to Barbuda's for incredible Cocco Beach & Low Bay! Nevis is an easy ferry ride from St. Kitts. Nightlife is average.

Aruba & Bonaire/Curacao - Great combination and easy to get to all three (ABC) islands. Aruba has the best nightlife and beaches, but the other two offer lots of culture, snorkeling and nature parks.

Puerto Rico and anywhere - Since PR is the major hub of the Caribbean, it's very easy to spend a week here either before or after your main destination. You can take all PR natural wonders, history and nightlife. The must do's are Old San Jaun, El Yunque rainforest, the mountain hwy drive, the islands of Culebra and Vieques.

St. Thomas/St. John's. 20 minute ferry run between each. You can also easily visit the British Virgin Islands. Virgin Gorda is beautiful.
