Which St. John villa did you enjoy and why?
Looking for a 2 bedroom villa w/pool for next summer. As there is such a huge variety in prices, looks and locations I thought feedback from people who actually stayed there would be helpful.
So tell me all your good (and bad) experiences!

Eve: Not a villa, but we stayed in a small condo complex (10 units I think)called Cruz Views a few years back and it was extremely quiet, small pool and very reasonable. Overlooks Cruz Bay. Not sure what time of year you're going..we were there in October and loved it. Caribbean Villas which is right on St. John. I think they have a website. They might have other rentals available as well. Good luck.

We stayed at Beach Villa on Great Cruz Bay. It was spectacular with a pool surrounded by a tropical garden, 10 person hot tub, private beach, 5 br, wonderfully decorated and appointed, and a great rental "family". Donald Schnell has 5 villas, this is the largest. His small staff is most helpful and friendly. They will take care of you.

Are most villas 2 bedrooms or more? What about one bedroom villas with a nice pool, location, view and privacy? I was in St. John a few years ago with my husband and we stayed at Caneel Bay. We want to go to St. John again and perhaps try a villa this time. (We loved Caneel Bay, but it is just so expensive to stay there.)

Coconut Coast Studios. Stayed there twice and loved it. The 1 room was only $170ish on season. They have 1 and 2 bedroom villas. Our first 1 room had a wonderful view of the ocean -- which was only 50' away. The villa has a nice little pool facing the ocean, air (which we never needed), kitchens and is very clean. email me if you have more questions as I don't check this site much — miler

Hi, Cheryl -
In St. John, you are charged by the number in your party and not the size of the villa. On our first trip to STJ six years ago, my wofe and I rented a 5 bedroom, 5 and a half bath villa (5,000 sq. feet) with large swimming pool for $1,400/week in November. We were amazed. We have returned each year since sometimes with other couples and sometimes just the two of us. We have rented from 5 different realtors and this appears to be their rental policy. Obviously, the more people the lower your cost, however, we have never experienced a renting policy such as this in our travels. You always pay for the price of the home per week regardless of how many people inhabit the property. So, you should be able to find something in your price range for the two of you. Obviously, the base price increases with the size of the home meaning that a 3 bedroom's base will normally be less than a 6 bedroom.

Try either Lavendar Hill (on hill overlooking Cruz Bay, quiet!) which is less expensive; or Gallows Pointe which is either overlooking ocean or bay. Last year my husband and I stayed at LH to get something cheap ($125/night in June) and were highly impressed. Both run by same group, Suite St. John, nice accommodations, very friendly and accommodating staff, excellent walking location, views of harbor/ocean (stay in the upper levels to insure that).
