Well at least I hope I'm your kind of bad. . BTW lost in this banter is the fact that, at least so far the OP hasn't reposted. Hmm. I wonder.

Thanks Christie. Don't know about always but I do try. . I am well though now as I am at work at 0700 AFTER watching the Sox win last night (the game ended at 0100) I'm a bit sleepy. Today is only an 8 hr. day and tomorrow I'm off. If the Sox lost it would be alot worse. WS baseball in Chi. Pinch me.

Jacketwatch,

I won't pinch you, but I'll remind you you were part of baseball history. The game last night was the longest in World Series history !

SWEEP has a lovely ring to it, doesn't it !

Good luck and enjoy the memories.

Marion

Thanks Marion. I'll bet "sweep" will always recall fond memories for you and Red Sox nation. If the Sox win today I think it will set another record too. It'll be the first time a team has won TWO WS games on the same day. I hope they do and Houston has to be a bit down. That was their best pitcher and their best punch so far, all for naught. Also all that talk about the roof being open or closed, to me, shows some real concerns on their part. It seems they are desparate to get any edge whatsoever. We'll see tonight.

This is so unrelated to travel, that I'm sure it will disappear soon, but...
didn't the current president own the Astros at one time ? I still get the Texas teams confused ;-)

I'm a typically superstitious baseball fan, so I have a few rituals that I'll be using tonight in honor of Chicago and the White Sox fans

Faithie, too true!

Perhaps its planning the next trip (or 3) and thinking about sandy beachs, beachside restaurants and relaxing with a cocktail while watching the sun go down that does it?

It certainly works for me

How about a little vicarious drinking pleasure

Since I'm leaving at the end of November, and will be in Jamaica for a month....tell me what your favorite Caribbean cocktail is (recipe and or/ingredients) and I'll *have one* for all the thread *hi-jackers*

And please don't hate me for going ;-)...it's all ready freezing up here. There was snow last night !

Marion

A month in Jamaica! Yah mon. . As for a concoction I am of help there I'm afraid. For me a good single barrel aged rum sipped from a cognac glass does the trick.

Larry,
I'll bet that you are tired. I have not been watching the world series..but glad to learn that the White Sox made history last night!I have missed the news today..so far..been too busy..looking for a new car. I have been watching Monday night football..my husband watches it on Sundays and Mondays.

I did see a show on the Travel Channel today about the "Jamaica Inn" and that some believe that it is haunted..it was pretty interesting.

Marion,
Have a great month in Jamaica..I bet that you can't wait to get away from the cold weather! It's starting to get cool here now..the high today was 61.

Take care all!

Marion,

Do I have to have a favorite cocktail?

I have been known to start at the top of the drinks menu and just work my way down and my 'New York Bartenders Guide' book's spine is coming away from the book.

I have a friend who orders by color!!!

Christie,

Oh, you had me all excited - but wasn't that the Jamaica Inn, Cornwall England - not Jamaica Inn, Jamaica.

I would have watched it either way since I've been to both but they don't seem to be repeating it - It's damn Poker on that channel tonight

Wow, you had a high of 61 - positively tropical

alya,
Hi!It probably was in England..I missed the beginning so I assumed that when I read the description on the Direct TV guide..that they were talking about Jamaica. The "ghost busters" did have an English accent.

Heck..I stay so busy..I miss the local news half the time.

As for drinks...I really like Bushwhackers,Melon Balls,Lime N Coconut and a good ole Corona Light with lime. Also some white or blush wine.

Marion: Dirty Bananas are the most popular frozen cocktails on Negril Beach. Rum, Tia Maria and Bailey's, blended with ice and a banana. I think that is the recipe. There maybe a splash of cream or milk.
