Which Island for Bonefish & Beach?
We are trying to pick an island for a week vaca this April. My husband will want to fish (fly cast)as much as possible for bonefish, etc., whereas I want a gorgeous, quite beach where I can read and snorkel (I have been spoiled by the beaches of St. John)
Barefoot, relaxed accomodations best - good food and drink too! Thanks for any advice!
Melissa

Have you thought of the Turks & Caicos Islands? I believe they offer bonefishing, and the beaches are probably the best I've seen. Check out these two websites for more info:
http://www.provo.net
http://www.interknowledge.com/turks-caicos/index.html

Good luck!

Melissa, look into Eleuthera in the Bahamas, some of the best bonefishing around for your hubby and one of the best beaches in the world for you. The island is very unspoiled and you can walk for miles and probably not run into many people.

I would recommend The Cove, or Rainbow
Inn, which are close to the beach, the island is 110 miles long by a mile wide at most, so you are not far from the beach anywhere on the island.

If you go to the www.where2stay.com board and "kalik" on islands at the top of the board you will find info about most of the islands in the Carribean and pictures and rates for the hotels.

Have a wonderful trip.

tweedy

Melissa

You DEFINITELY want to go to The Sands at Grace Bay in the Turks & Caicos. it was just rated the number one beach in the world by Conde Nast readers!! They have bonefishing and the resort is an all-suite luxury resort that is a "filet mignon with Sand between your toes" kind of place! The beachfront restaurant is gourmet at its best with some of the best food I have eaten anywhere, not to mention in the Caribbean. Check out their website at www.thesandsresort.com. You will not be disappointed!
