Where To Stay In Barbados?
My wife and I are planning a 2 week holiday to Barbados in Feb. 2000, and we are not sure on where to stay. There seem's to be a great discrepancy in prices from resort to resort. We would like nice accomodations with accessibilty to shopping, restaurants, etc. without spending a fortune. Any idea's or comments would be appreciated. Thanks!

The south coast tends to be a little less expensive than the west, but the beaches on the west are calmer. On the west coast you might try the Regent House (new hotel a little lower priced than the established ones), Sandridge which is further north and a more middle of the road kind of place, or Inn on the Beach. On the south coast try Bougainvillea which is very nice - one of the newest resorts on the south coast, Sandy Beach or Southern Palms.

We went to Barbados this past May for our Honeymoon. We stayed 5 days at the Crystal Cove which is an all-inclusive hotel. We enjoyed the beach, the room, the staff ad the exchanging of restaurants. We ate at their sister resorts and everything was great. They were not all buffet dinners either. If you have anymore questions, please feel free to email. Enjoy!!!

Stayed at the Bougainvillea last January and loved it. It is one of the newest resorts. It's actually more like a condominium complex. Large suites with full kitchen so you can eat in if you like. Close to St. Lawrence Gap where there are many great restaurants. Nice uncrowded beach. Definitely take a cruise on the Tiami and swim with the sea turtles. Worth the price!
