Grace Bay on the island of Providenciales in the Turks & Caicos islands.
Negril on the west coast of Jamaica.
Any of several beaches on the island of Anguilla.
Isla du Mujeres.
These all fit the bill for great white sand beaches good for long walks. Depending on how long a beach you need, Aruba, Barbados, and a few others might work as well. Tell us what else you're looking for and we'll chime in with specifics.

Anguilla is great but as ejcrowe also recommended and I strongly 2nd, look at Grace Bay, Providencials Turks and Caicos a huge expanse of white sand beach and the most beautiful water anywhere and I've been to South Pacific, Indian Ocean, Med, etc. Trust me on that. Have a great trip wherever you decide and happy holidays!

Thanks for new ideas...I guess I'm now exploring Grace Bay too. And to think I was already to book Anquilla this week.In Anquilla, where is the best place to stay as far as a beach goes? (R Bay, or Shoal?) How about Palm Island(Grenedines)? any thoughts? I like calmer water, clear, no rocky seaweed beaches. Good for swimming and walking. Would like activities but, not a sandals type atmosphere this time.Good food, and service is a plus! All ideas are appreciated. Everyone have a nice holiday!

I too recommend Grace Bay Provo, T&C. What time of year are you planning to go? This could have an impact on the beach conditions, as well as the weather.
In the fall and winter months both T&C and Nassau can be very windy, this can make the ocean very rough and choppy (very disappointing when you are expecting calm water). Also, the water temp will be much colder in those months. Avoid those months.
However, in late spring, the water is beautiful (especially in T&C), and it's warmer. Personnaly, summer scares me due to possible hurricanes. But, I bet I would love the beach and weather in the summer.

If you are looking for a good beach for walking in Anguilla, there are three that are especially good: Shoal Bay East with great snorkelling right there, RendezVous Bay with a great beach bar if you want to reward yourself at the end of your exercise, and Mead's Bay. All have choices in accomodations. It just depends on what kind of place you like. There are hotels and apartment resorts in all price ranges with all sorts of amenities. The three big hotels are Cap Juluca, which IMHO is the most romantic, Malliouhana, which is the quietest, and Cuisinart, which is the newest and sportiest. The service is good at all three. I think all the beaches are quiet and uncrowded. Hope that helps.

Yes, the Anguilla Great House is another good place to stay. It's right on my favorite beach, Rendez Vous Bay. It's very quiet there, quieter and more laid-back, than the three hotels. The units are smack on the beach. Ask the bartender for a welcome drink when you arrive...he's one of, if not The best!

decided on Anquilla...now need to decided hotel and when? is it better in May or July? Can anyone give me info on some of the cheaper hotels? (Blue waters, Rendevous Bay Hotel and Great House) how do they compare to CP, Cusinart and Mallihanna? Looking at cost since that may allow me to take two trips instead of one..ha ha
