The only 5 star hotels are Marriott (set off a bit more from the other hotels so gives the feeling of more privacy); Hyatt (centrally located with only drawback no balconies); Radisson (recently had a COMPLETE renovation and is just super and is also centrally located on Palm Beach). For the best rates and service go to http://www.travelunlimited.com. This agency (Travel Center) specializes in Aruba and is very knowledgeable and helpful. They are a 'real' agency and not just internet but their prices and services are outstanding! They are also part of AMEX so another added feeling of 'security'.

There is a lot of debate over this question. The top 3 being hyatt, radisson, marriott. When I was planning to go to Aruba for my honeymoon my uncle , who had just returned from his own aruba vacation, nearly insisited that I stay no where but the Hyatt. I was a little wary as the Hyatt is a bit more money but as soon as we arrived in Aruba, I could see that the Hyatt is By far the best of the best! This is not to say the others are not beautiful but the hyatt is Incredible.

The grounds are lush with Parrots & Macaws that talk to you in spanish and english and black swans. The pools are sparking with a water slide and a swim up bar.

The staff was the most accomadating people we found ont he island(everyone always says that Aruba has the friendliest people, who bend over backwards to help you. To be honest, outside of the Hyatt staff we found them to be just normal, some friendly others completely disinterested). Without hesitation we were upgraded from an ocean island view to a breathtaking pool ocean view. I highly highy recommend the this resort. Feel free to email me!
<BR

My husband and I have been to Aruba 6 times and have stayed at both the Hyatt and Radisson. The Hyatt would be our 2nd choice. We stayed at the Radisson in September and returned there again in March. We find this resort to have the best service on the island.

Radisson- The grounds are large- 14 acres. This gives the resort a nice long stretch of beach, which we both love. IMHO, the beach at the Radisson is much nicer than the Hyatt’s and much less crowded. As someone else mentioned the Radisson has just undergone a $55 million renovation. There are 2 zero-entry freshwater pools. The 2 pools are divided by a stretch of sand that serves as the entryway to the beach area. Lots of room around the pool to spread out.

Hyatt- One of the most beautiful features of the resort is the area that forms the courtyard of the hotel where the swimming pool is located. This whole area of greenery inside the courtyard in turn is interspersed with tropical pools filled with goldfish. Across the lagoon from Ruinas del Mar is the little tiny beach with the black swans and pink flamingoes. There are also whirlpools and cages filled with parrots and even a Toucan throughout this area. There is a 3 tier swimming pool with a two story water slide and a swim up bar. The pool area has lots of shade and is cramped. I also understand that they are going to be renovating this area. You may want to have your travel agent make some inquiries. Both hotels provide waitress service right on the beach and around the pool for soda, drinks or food.

Radisson- Rooms are decorated in West Indian furnishings with dark woods, yellow walls and nice wood furniture on the balconies. Bathrooms were all marble. Rooms have telephones with voicemail, data port/computer hook-up, remote control, satellite TV, coffee maker, clock radio, hair dryer, bathrobe and in-room safe, mini-bar, iron and ironing board, down pillows and Evian. Nice balconies also!

Hyatt- The rooms are just an ordinary hotel room. All rooms have standard hotel amenities such as TV with remote control, cable movie channels, voice mail, telephone w/ message, computer hookup, minibar, coffee maker, hairdryer, Individual climate control, full bath amenities, AM/FM alarm clock, mini-safe, electronic locks, iron, ironing board, ceiling fan. People do complain about the lack of a balcony, The Hyatt has large sliding glass doors, so you will still get the same view.

No matter where you stay, for relaxation, blue waters and great beaches Aruba is the best choice. I have lots of photos of both resorts at http://www.arubabound.com If you have any other questions, please feel free to e-mail me.

Lisa
