Where to photograph sunrises and sunsets in St. Martin?

Hello everyone,

Does anyone familiar with St. Martin know of good locations on the island for taking both sunrise and sunset photos? If so, are they safe to go alone? Thanks

Orient Bay for sunsets

www.greencayvillas.com/photos/gallery5.php

Dutch side catches the AM light better but more

casinos tourists...

So French side best safest for photographers for me.

Happy Journey,

Qwovadis--

Thanks so much for the tip, I will make a note of it. What is your feeling about Pointe Blanche for sunrises? I will be staying near Simpson Bay and am thinking that general area might be good for sunsets, and maybe Cupecoy beach, too.

Try shooting from the Sunset Bar of The Grand Case Beach Club, in Grand Case on the French side of the island, or from the parking lot alongside the leisure center in Galisbay (Marigot) - also French side - where there is a half submerged small ship, dumped there by hurricane Luis in 1995. I have a super photo taken from there with the wreck in the center of the sunset!).

Against the light photos at SUNRISE taken from Orient Bay can also be very effective - if the light is OK - but you have to be patient.

Sunrise - Dawn Beach
Sunset - Cupecoy

Both are totally safe.

Many thanks to everyone for your suggestions. It sounds like Orient, Dawn, Grand Case and Cupecoy are the places to shoot from.
