Okay folks. I've read about the beautiful beaches, crystal clear water, and the conficting reports about the Beaches resort where we will be staying. But here's my main question. Where should I buy good Cuban cigars in Provo? Should I pick them up at the airport on our way into the island? What shops on the island have the best selection? How are the prices? Thanks to all you fellow cigar aficionados for any advice.

Bingo! Here's your answer. My husband and I just returned from PROVO and stayed at Allegro. Allegro is about 10 minutes from Beaches. Across from the Allegro resort is a few shops for souvineirs and for tourists. There are 2 separate sets of stores. One store front had a sign in its window saying "Cuban Cigars". I asked my husband if he wanted one, but he's not a bit interested. I don't know the name of the shopping center. It's easy to find since there were only about 7 tiny stores grouped together. We walked there. You couldn't do that from Beaches. Good luck and have fun. When are you traveling?

When I went last year the lady in the gift shop at the Allegro was selling Cubans on the side. It is strictly cash as it is'nt through the gift shop. If you go there and don't see any Cubans out, ask about them, as she might not have them out. When I first asked she was out, and only needed 2 days to get some more.
