Where can we find a moongate in Bermuda?

My husband and I will be in Bermuda this coming weekend on an anniversary trip. We had a photo taken there under a moongate, I believe at the Castle Harbor Marriott nearly 18 years ago and would like to revisit - is it still there or is there another one we could use for an update photo? thanks!!!!!!

Where are you staying? There's a nice one at the Reefs hotel, Ariel Sands Hotel, Harmony Club, you won't have any trouble..

There's one at the Elbow Beach hotel (located in the garden area outside the front parking area).

thanks so much - we ended up staying at Grape Bay since Elbow was sold out for one of the nights we needed. We will have dinner there and will be able to take the picture as well! Our honeymoon was at Elbow Beach but I didn't know if the moongate survived the renovations.

Sorry to intrude on your post, but I have to ask. What is a moongate?

Moongates are the essence of Bermuda. Scroll down on this page to see one and a bit of their history.

There is a moongate in front of the Sonesta Beach Resort. It's a good one for photo taking. The beautiful ocean in the background. (It is where my wedding photos were taken. My husband and I said our vows there too)!
Pompano Beach Club also has a beautiful moongate that makes a great backdrop for photo taking.
Best wishes!
Annika

There is a very nice moongate at the Fairmont Hamilton. Couples are often married there and its a great background for a picture.

They sound very romantic--maybe for an anniversary my husband and I can make it to Bermuda and walk through a moongate.

Are there any in the islands outside of Bermuda?

I've never seen them in Barbados or Jamaica.

I have never seen them elsewhere. They are beautiful and make such a perfect frame for a happy couple.
Bermuda is my favorite relaxation destination. While I am active there, scuba, walking and biking, primarily it is a place to relax and enjoy the beautiful private spaces you can find. It has good restaurants, gorgeous views and lovely people. A perfect place for an anniversary.

Ahhh, the Castle Harbor is no more. We honeymooned there and have a picture of us under the Moongate.

Years later we took our children to Bermuda. During that trip I purchased a watercolor picture of the Moongate at Castle Harbor and had it framed - it hangs in our bedroom. I'm glad I did because by the time we were ready to return for our 25th anniversary, the hotel had closed.

Happy Anniversary!!

We did go back for our 25th cmcfong, just not at Castle Harbor! We stayed at the Fairmont and did something we usually don't do while already on vacation....extend our stay! We stayed a couple of additional nights at Ariel Sands. We both love Bermuda. It holds such fond memories for us!

One year I want to do what you do and thats stay during December, just to relax.

It is a lovely time to go. I understand Ariel Sands is being converted into some kind of condominiums. Sad. Bermuda is full of great choices!

Yes, we saw the plans when we were there, but I thought they were keeping a certain number of cottages.

In any case, there are so many choices -- looking forward to exploring as many as I can!

There is also a moongate on the grounds of Cambridge Beaches - more than one if I remember correctly. That was pre-baby, so I can't remember anything now!

Didn't need to hear that comment about extending a stay - now that the seed is planted it could happen to me next time we go!
