Curtain Bluff, Caneel Bay, Bucuti or Maliouhana?

Message: So we've narrowed it down to our top four picks:
1. Curtain Bluff, Antigua
2. Caneel Bay, St. John's
3. Bucuti, Aruba
4. Maliouhana in Anguilla
We are looking for the best overall island experience. Beautiful beaches, nice kayaking and snorkeling water, comfortable and pampering resort, sights to see, things to do, good food to eat, decent night life.

For the most romantic honeymoon experience, St. John, Caneel Bay. I went there 5 years ago...It's gorgeous. The island and beaches are excellent and the overall experience is great. You won't be sorry!!! So less touristy than the other choices.

At Caneel Bay, you have wade-in snorkeling from all of their SEVEN tree-shaded white sand beaches. You can have a room with its patio or balcony on the sand 20 ft. from the water. Incredibly romantic, in the National Park, no development to be seen, just views of sky, water, other islands. Extensive grounds, with views everywhere; you can nearly get lost. Nothing compares for beachfront paradise. St.John is a very pretty island to explore, and there are ferries to the BVI and Caneel's own boat can take you to St. Thomas for more sightseeing and shopping in Charlotte Amalie.

We went to Bucuti in Nov 03 - the beach was great - very private. It is not a place to stay if you are looking for fun and partying, although you can easily get there via cab as the island is so small. The rooms are ok, the beach and the privacy is what makes it great.

We love Caneel-- have been back 3 times, and look forward to our next visit. Everything there is terrific EXCEPT the food, which is mediocre (some quite good restaurants in town-- a 5 min cab ride) Also: there's no "night life" at Caneel, including no tv or radio or cd player. That's great with us, but it might not be everyone's cup of tea. The place is beautiful. The snorkeling absolutely first-rate.

I have been to Caneel many times and I love it for snorkeling. The seven beaches are wonderful-but the service for its price is definetly lacking. I have been there 5 time so you can tell I do enjoy it. Its just frustrating for the money, and Rosewoods reputation
is surely not as this resort.
The island of St. John is beautiful,
love Cruz Bay.
I have never been to Curtain Bluff, but I have stayed at Carlisle Bay on the same rain forest side of the island--
beaches on St. John were much better.
Never been to Aruba.
Malliouhana is a winner. Beautiful beach-Meads, and its own private turtle
cove. Their new huge spa is fantastic.
Lots of stand alone beach front dining,
besides Malli's restaurant. Anguilla is low key, vey easy to get around,
some night life at Johnnos, Pumphouse,
Rumza.
Anguilla should be your choice.
