Hope not to offend anyone. Thanks for the link. I have to play with it, and I am a black hair-blue-eyed reader. As I typed earlier, I have to be hit over the head with things at times!! Love to laugh!

Hi Christie, finally thought I would take a look at this site. I wonder if I will get flamed over here for stating my opinion on Aruba as I do on the tripadvisor site. I guess there are a few of us that are not Aruba lovers and think it is over hyped.

You should be ok to state your opinion of a destination on here. afterall..its good that we all do not like the same place or accomodations would be hard to find.

You are just fine to express your opinion here Sharyn. For quite awhile on some of the Aruba boards, I thought you actually might be Christie. I watched closely and realized your writing is different. There are a few of us here that aren't rushing to book our next trip to Aruba. There are also no bullies, no one is PM'ing anyone and there is no special land where your isp is being checked and you are being deleted for having an opinion. Welcome to the land of the free. Glad you're here and hope you'll post often.

Thanks for the welcome Christie and Knowing. It is nice to know that censorship doesn't thrive here like it does on some other Aruba boards, where if your opinion doesn't agree with the majority of the Aruba lovers you get attacked by bullies, your post will be deleted or you are banned from their site, even though you follow the board posting guidelines, but then some of those boards are run by Aruba Tourism or marketing companies in Aruba and you can guess what they are trying to sell.

Different strokes for different folks. It would be a pretty boring world if we all like the same things.

Nice to be on a Aruba board where ALL opinions are respected. I like the land of the free and will frequent it often.

ONZGO

I agree with Christie, if we all liked the same places and things then would this be one boring world?

We went to Aruba last year and loved it! but only because we knew what we wanted and found it on Eagle beach not Palm beach.

If we'd had stayed in the any of the high-rise resorts I would probably be saying exactly the same as you. We walked along the beach and through some of the resorts and were very glad to get back to the quiet and calm of Eagle beach.

We left the 'offspring' at home and were looking for a beachside room at a small, quiet resort on a wide white sandy beach with plenty of loungers.

Apart from going out to eat (I'm assuming you liked the restaurants) we were generally 'Beach Bunnies'

It's a pity the Bucuti Beach is getting harder to book but perhaps that's because I recommend it to all the stressed parents I know who want to get away from their children - Boy, are there a lot out there

Yea..on this board you can pretty much state your opinion.Every now and then you get someone who wants a catfight.

There are some nice folks on this board.I have been coming here since February and have found the people to be very helpful and friendly with the vacation planning process.

I just think it's because we're laid back.

Perhaps too much time thinking about white sandy beaches, clear blue sea for snorkeling and which island to visit next?

Now, ONZGO, if you were to try posting a negative review about Paris, London or Rome on the Europe Forum - well, that's another matter

Hi Christie -

I'm convinced I will be cooking and entertaining when I die. LOL! Good thing I enjoy it. I've made tons of Nachos this summer just because there have been so many tortilla chip sales!

We stayed at the Westin on St. John in the condos up the hill from the hotel. It was wonderful with children. We rented a small SUV and was able to park it right at the door. Traveled and snorkeled all over the island. We got a great package from Liberty Travel. It was a super discovery island for a family vacation.

I have been to Aruba three times, and although I did like it best when it wasnt so Americanized, I still love the island.
It isnt lush, it is a desert ,Palm beach is busy,I prefer Eagle Beach,,less crowded, beautiful blue water, georgeous beaches.Great food.
I am going back in Oct. with my four kids.Staying a Casa Del Mar.
