I was given recommendations to stay at the Stonington or Elbow Beach Club from a friend that went to Bermuda last year for her honeymoon. She said these two were the places to stay.
We are going next month and booked the Stonington. I'll let you know how it is. I'm sure it won't compare to Hawaii (we also went to Hawaii on our last vacation) but I hear it's the next best.

I can't say enough about how beautiful Bermuda is. It is simply "Paradise". My husband and I honeymooned there in 1990 (stayed at the Sonesta) and then went back again the following year and stayed at the Pompano (a small hotel where we had oceanfront & privacy, as well as a restaurant swap package. We are planning our 10 year anniversary vacation for next year and are trying to decide if we will be able to find an island as beautiful as Bermuda. We have been to Cancun, St. Lucia and St. Martin (with a day trip to St. Barts), but nothing compares to Bermuda. It is just very, very expensive. I would love to know how the Stonington was because that is one of our choices if we go back.

Just got back from Bermuda. It was beautiful! In speaking to many other people while we were there, they all said Bermuda was much prettier, cleaner, friendlier and safer than any of the caribbean islands they've gone to. Honestly though, if you've been to Maui or Kaui, don't expect it to compare or you'll be disappointed- it won't compare- scenery and hotels are not the same -nowhere will. But I bet it's a close second. June was a nice time to go-all the flowers were out.

We stayed at the Stonington and thought it was very nice. We did look at the some of the other properties and in the end, agreed we would probably go back to the Stonington. Friendly staff, all rooms had great views and were very nice (and I'm picky about my room), elbow beach was great for swimming, close to Hamilton and more bermudian than the other hotels. We didn't eat dinner at the Stonington just breakfast which was good. We prefered to go into Hamilton and eat. Go to Tuscany if you like Italian.

Ann, Where are some of the place you ate? What sights did you find worth while? Why did you think the rooms were nice?
