We are headed to St. John in December and staying at the Westin. Does anyone have experience in going to either of their restaurants? Lemongrass or Snorkels? I'm wondering if they are any good. Sure is a lot easier than going into Cruz Bay!
You'll need easy meal options for some of your nights, and for a night or 2 either restaurant would suffice, but I would never go out of my way to dine there.
Snorkels. Meh at best. It is a hotel run pool/beach side grill - typical bar/grill menu. Service slow, food edible, and as you say you wouldn't have to schlep to Cruz Bay.
Lemongrass - barely meh. Unremarkable menu, seems like a typical hotel chain restaurant. Service also slow. Foor definitely edible, but not memorable.
On our 2024 trip to St John we enjoyed our meals at
Cruz Bay: High Tide (several times. Nice kick back harborside bar, 1684 (several meals), Love City BBQ (takeout).
Coral Bay: Johnny Lime - best meals we had all week.
Getting to/from the Westin to Cruz Bay isn't that hard - there are always taxis at the Westin. Taxi will cost you $10-12 per person each way and it's only about a 10min drive. You will not want to drive in/out of town on your own.
