Wedding at Round Hill, Half Moon, or the Ritz?
My fiance and I have our hearts set on a destination wedding, but we aren't sure which island would be the best fit. Jamaica might be good for our guests as it is close to the East Coast and has "clusters" of resorts all nearby each other. We will have a small (40 p) wedding, but want it to be as upscale

Many of our US and Jamaican guests get married at Strawberry Hill (see islandoutpost.com) 40 min above Kingston in the Blue Mts. Fly into Kingston. Your group of 40 would essentially also 'own' the whole resort.
Of the 3 MoBay area resorts, Round Hill, hands-down.

The ultimate upscale would be Silent
Waters estate, near Round Hill/see recent guest postings here, with ability to be wedding venue and host for main wedding party -- with other guests staying at a wide choice of other accomodations nearby,
including Round Hill. Tryall, Coyaba, depending on your/their budgets.

IslandOutpost.com does offer a week long package combining stays at 1 or more: Strawberry Hill, Jakes in Treasure Beach, The Cliffs in Negril and
Goldeneye, Ian Fleming's estate on
the North Coast in Orcabessa, outside
Ocho Rios.

Out of your original three, Half Moon would be my pick because of the size and diversity of accommodations.
Also, a fun thing would be to have the wedding and reception at the Witch's House, Rose Hall which is kinda right across the street from the Ritz-Carlton.

I'd second Half Moon if you're looking for other hotels close by.
There are several other hotels close by and the price range varies in that location. I do agree with Tiverton about Strawberry Hill for the setting and would also recommend Tryall for setting as well. But there are no hotels close by to Tryall. There are many really nice villas though...both at Tryall and at Round Hill.
I suspect we've all confused you with our varying opinions, but hey, Jamaica is just a beautiful country kid!
I guess you'll just have to choose one by a process of elimination.

The Caves (thanks, Liz) gets quite a few rave reviews from upscale, sophisticated wedding groups, with nearby places like Tensing Pen to
house guests less expensively. So does Golden Eye (agree with Liz, would be my top choice), in an area which does have other villas nearby for overflow guests.
Half Moon is big, diverse in style, rooms, villas, restaurants which appeals
if you want a more big resort experience. Tryall's much the same -- and appeals more to golfers and families. Round Hill is a classic Ralph Lauren recreation of Jamaica's Golden
Age/a Slim Aarons experience, straight out of Town and Country magazine.
Pick the STYLE that appeals most to YOU -- your guests will invaribly be
delighted.
