Vieques- Spring Break Destination?

I've read a few posts and am considering Vieques for an early March vacation. I would like to avoid the Spring Break crowd. Could I do that here?

Thanks!

I'm not certain what you mean about the spring break crowd, but if it's what I think you mean Vieques is anything but the kind of place that attracts that crowd. It's a wonderful, very quiet place. While there are some great restaurants, entertainment is very much of the self-manufactured variety - hanging out on the mainly deserted beaches, visiting the fantastic biobay, etc.

Lots of folks from PR go to Vieques for weekends and holidays, but it's not your typical Cancun spring break crowd. If you want quiet and repose, you'll find it on Vieques.

Agreed - it's still "off the beaten path" enough to not have girls gone wild style spring breakers.

Vieques- and especially Culebra- are going to be flooded with local university kids during Semana Santa (Holy Week 2007: April 1 - 8 with peak Thursday to Sunday). The ferries will be a nightmare during this period. If you want quiet, avoid that weekend if possible.

in spring 2006 vieques had an unfortunate change of pace.. spring break found us! the biobay was crazy, beaches full of footballers, oh my! oh my.. it would be folly to assume we could avoid it forever.
