Turtle Beach Resort in Barbados
Has anyone stayed at or visited Turtle Beach Resort? Can you give me the scoop?
Is it a nice resort? How is the beach area? How are the rooms? What about the food? Is the south cost as nice as the west coast? Which has nice, white beaches?

Hi Debbie...
I haven't been to Turtle Beach Resort but based on hours of research, I have booked a trip there beginning Dec 1 of this year. Apparently it is one of the newest, if not the newest, resort in Barbados - built from the ground up in Dec of 1997. That makes it scarcely 2 years old so I am hoping that it is clean, new, and well-kept. Our travel agent mentioned that this resort is aggressively marketed in Europe so it may attract more Europeans than Americans, I don't know. I would like information on the resort as well...if anyone has anything to offer!

Debbie & Liz - Turtle Beach is, as you mentioned, quite new. It looks wonderful (saw it last year) and has gotten excellent reviews from those that have stayed there. Check out the review by Tina who recently returned on the where2stay.com site, under the hotel listing. With regard to the area, the south coast is very nice, but different from the west coast of Barbados. There are medium sized waves on the south coast, unlike the very calm west coast, but the beaches are still white (sometimes pink) sand beaches, and are actually larger than the west coast. I'm sure you both be quite happy with the resort, beach and the island in general! Have fun!
