Provo is a desert island in the Turks and Caicos islands. The T &C are south of the Bahamas. Provo is an island for people who love the ocean - snorkeling, diving and swimming are superb. Grace Bay (the beach on which most resorts are located) is about 10-15 kilometres of beautiful white sand.
The island itself is not especially beautiful - the best scenery is underwater. Although there are some pretty little coves and a natural bridge at the end of Malcom roads and the Chalk Sound provides some pretty photo ops with its many little islands. Provo is VERY quiet - some nice restaurants and one casino but it is not a "night life" place.
Provo is a vacation spot for people who like quiet relaxation and who love snorkeling or diving or walking miles of pristine beach. Anyone who needs ample nightlife and shopping will NOT like it.

I don't want to be repetitive, but the above statement is well put. Ditto it entirely. I also stayed at Beaches. We had a great week,a needed rest right after the Holidays. My husband is a diver, we snorkelled. Great place for R&R. But that is about it. Depends what you are looking for. I am a shopper, and I like more nightlife. We are 2 adults childless, one to many "Magic Shows" at Beaches for me. A great family resort so I felt.
