Hi Blamona,
thanks for the detailed recommendations for the restaurants. We are going to Provo in a week, beginning of February. I posted before and you provided excellent information, thanks again. We will be staying at Regent Palms, worked out the best money and value-wise. How far are the restaurants from RP? If we take a taxi (don't want my husband to drive on vacation) will it be within $10 each way approximately. I understand that some are further than others (and to some we will be able to walk)but on the average? How much is a taxi from airport to RP?

I've read some of your posts, blamona, and this may not fit here, but I'm going to ask anyway, since you are so knowledgeable. What follows is a copy of a post I made on another thread. I'm at the wire of needing to make a decision on this trip, so I'd really appreciate your advice!! Thanks in advance.

Some friends are going to Nassau in May, and I have timeshare I can use & go along with them. But....I've been hearing a lot of negative comments about it not being a safe place any more. What are your thoughts? I'm staying away from Mexico & don't want to go to Nassau if it is resembling the dangers of Mexico. I'm a young 60 & just want to relax in the sun, maybe do a little shopping, but am now worried that I won't feel secure.
I'm wondering if I should pass on this trip & use my time in a more appealing place. The only close place to there that I've been is Grand Cayman, but it was about 4-5 years ago....and I went alone & felt quite safe. Advice, please.....and thank you.

We were going to skip our winter "blue water" escape this year----now I'm not so sure. We've gone to Grace Bay for the last 3 years and it's calling us back.
Loved your restaurant report---always helpful.
Thanks blamona!

kiramoli, Regent Palms is lovely! You can walk on either side to Mango Reef, O'Soleil and Bay Bistro. Taxi to airport is roughly $12-$14 per person. My opinion, but taxi is extremely expensive and not overly regulated on that island. I personally would rent a car for $39, unlimited, allows supermarket shopping, exploring other stunning beaches and Chalk Sound (what a sight!) and other terrific restaurants with no waiting or carrying cash around--worth the price in my opinion.
luvtogotoo, I really don't know the crime situation in Nassau, but it wouldn't stop me from going. Bad economies bring out crime everywhere in the world. Use regular cautions, statistically you'll probably be fine. You'll be with friends, sounds fun to me. Again, just my opinion.
thanks agin to all for the compliments.
