Traveling alone to D.R.
I'm a female who will be traveling alone for the first time and would like to know if anyone has been to Coral Hamaca Beach Hotel & Casino in D.R.? Also, for females who have travelled alone to a Caribbean Island alone, can you tell me what your experience was like? Little nervous but I need this relaxing vacation

Get ready for a wild and fun time at the DR. You will have guys coming up to you every second of the day. Bring lots of protections though, as I wouldn't trust the guys there to have any. <BR>Last time I was there for 7 days, I was able to find myself 4 locals and 2 tourists to keep me occupied. Definately a stud island if there ever was one. What they say about island men is more than true, definately much better than any American.

Maria: I would ignore the last posting. I've done tons of traveling (with friends and on my own). Yes, be careful, but you will do fine on your own. To ward off anyone (and to BB-not everyone is looking for a catch) you are not interested in, a comment like "I've got a boyfriend back home" always does the trick. If you do your research, take tours and avoid dark areas (stay in resort), you will be fine. Have a great time!
