Travel from Puerto Rico to Antigua

In early January, I am taking advantage of frequent flyer points and rewards points to do a fun vacation with my family. We are flying to Puerto Rico on Rapid Rewards, then need to get to Antigua (Sugar Ridge resort).

1. What is the best way to travel from Puerto Rico to Antigua? (Puerto Rico is just an idea, we are using Rapid Rewards points and can fly anywhere Southwest flies into the Caribbean--is there a better place for us to fly into to ultimately reach Antigua?)
2. Is 4 days enough in Antigua? We will probably stay the night in our transition city both coming and going, as my kids have not been to the Caribbean.
3. We pack light and can be flexible--we just have to be back on the west coast by Jan 9.

Any and all advice/tips you can provide is so appreciated!

There is only one way to get from Puerto Rico (via SJU airport) to Antigua (ANU) and that is to fly and there are only 2 local airlines that fly that route. LIAT Airlines has a daily non-stop flight and InterCaribbean Airways has a daily 1-stop flight to ANU. Those are your only options. FYI - the distance is much too far for ferries.

When coming from the US mainland the only other practical routing would be to fly into St. Martin (SXM) then get a connecting flight on either LIAT or Winair to ANU.

You'll have to check with Southwest but other than Puerto Rico I'm pretty sure Southwest only flies into Jamaica, the Dominican Republic and Aruba and you can't find flights from any of those islands to Antigua without multiple connecting flights and long layovers.

Whether 4 days on Antigua is "enough" depends on what you want to do/accomplish during your stay. Some people will tell you 4 days on Antigua is better than not going there at all. In short, only you know if it will be "enough".
