You are soooooo wrong! I am a former model and now, after 2 kids and pushing 40, am a size 8. I do Pilates 4 times a week and run. I won't even wear a bikini though, even though my husband begs me, since I think they only look good on perfectly flat stomachs and those under a certain age.

People should have a little more self respect and shame.

PS, I haven't eaten a donut in over 20 years.

DontUwish, you are so wrong. I don't claim to have a perfect boby, anything but. I know that I would not look good naked on the beach, even though I am bt no means fat. Granted, those hard bodied 18 and 19 year olds might brighten up a beach by running around naked, but sadly it is usually the flabby 30-40-50 somethings and brother they need to keep their clothes on. Gravity just works on the old bod and after a while those perky little titties no longer perk and that stomach that was flat as a table looks more like a beach ball covering up the family jewels on the men. Unless you have the body of a slim, trim 18 year old keep the swim suit on and do the rest of a BIG favor!

Been There and others,
We left the Garden of Eden a long time ago. Nudity certainly has a sexual connotation. At least for me it does. If the sight of attractive naked women has no effect on you, sorry. But you can't tell me all those people buy Playboy for the preseason football reviews.

If you still feel that nude beaches are only for sexual purposes then please confine yourself to the beaches of HEDO and let the rest of the educated world do as they please without being riduculed by the narrow and sexually only minded people. There are so many other things of real importantance in this world why clutter your mind with who is going nude on a nude beach and who isn't!

OK, I'm educated and know there is nothing sexual about a nude beach. It's just plain rude to run around naked when you have a horrible body. What makes you think anyone wants to see you naked? WE DON'T. You may feel great but the rest of us feel a bit nauseous.

Have some respect for others and cover up!

I have to ask, just how comfortable is it to have sand in all your cracks and crevices? It can't be comfy. You nudists are just exhibitionists, admit it.

Oh no, mine aren't tough, they don't get any sun exposure. There are several areas on my body that are still as soft as a babies behind. It's the ones that have been burnt and baked by too many UVA rays that are tough...

What I wanna know is what should be the guidelines for wearing a bikini or going nude? Shall we set a weight/age limit? Maybe the person should take a photo of themselves which can then be passed around the beach for everyone to vote yay or nay too.

Exactly. Anybody who says going nude on a beach is not about sex if full of BS. People who do this are exhibitionists and they know it.
There is not a male homo sapiens that has been born that doesn't think about sex immediately at the first sight of a topless woman.
I can't speak for women but men, you all know what I'm talking about.
For you women out there, it may not be about sex for you but I can guarantee that it is about sex and seeing naked women for men!!! They lie if they say it isn't!!!!!!!!!!!

thetruthhurts is right on. Plain and simple. The basics of human nature is what it is and it hasn't changed since the beginning on Man (and Woman).

First of all, if you haven't been to a nude beach, I don't think you should stereotype the nudists. Since I've been to a lot of nude beaches in US and Europe, I think you will all benefit from my experiences. The first time I went to a nude beach in NY, I was shocked at how many old, big people I saw walking around naked, only a handful were physically fit. I didn't go nude the first time but what amazes me is how nonchalant they could be. They play volleyball naked, they talk to each other naked, they read their books naked but there was nothing sexual about it. It's like just ordinary people doing their own thing. But this wasn't the case with everyone as I saw a guy touching himself while watching this pretty girl. The girl called the park ranger and he was kicked out of the beach. I would also agree that some people are exhibitionist as there was this naked girl who was doing some gymnastic routines there, spreading her legs 180 degrees in the air. Now, with regards to what guys think when they see a naked woman, I agree that it becomes sexual for them but like I said, you can't act on your fantasies at the beach as the park rangers will be quick to kick you out of there. And if you do this in Florida, the cops in their horses will chase you away if you exhibit lewd behavior. Now, when we were in Greece, we were in a public beach, no nudity allowed but we saw this couple, with clothes on but going at it at 5:00pm. So you see, there are more rules enforced in a nude beach and I've seen more lewd behavior in a public beach.

For true 'nudists' (who practice this lifestyle regularly) it is not about sex.

For men who vacation in that environment infrequently, anon and truth are correct.

Americans are too consumed with the body. We all have one so, get over it. All shapes all sizes. Who cares if your in shape or not, the point of laying out in the sun on vacation is to relax.
I agree that it is much nicer on the eyes to see young beautiful people naked. The fact of the matter is that the out of shape people are not there for others to look at. They are there to get sun, feel the elements on their skin and enjoy life. The reason St. Barths and orient beach are so laid back is due to the fact that more eupopeans vacation there. Europeans are not consumed by the naked body. Enjoy your vacation and go with the flow.

American are too consumed is right! We consume too much fat/sugar and junk food thus over half the population is now over weight.

This totally got off track. The original question was about the best beaches for this particular woman.

Nobody asked who should or shouldn't be seen by all. I go topless when it is acceptable, and don't even consider it when it is not. It is a personal decision....back to the question

I suggest you go to the website that was mentioned. You will obviously get more responsible, unbiased answers there.

Have fun, and don't forget the sunscreen!

Thank you "who cares", you are right. Too often I find these forms go way off the topic. My post just asked a simple question; where to find the best topless or nude beaches. Instead I have received comments on just about everything else on this topic. I just wish everyone on Fodors.com would understand why we are here and talking to eachother - it's for TRAVEL ADVICE! I'm sorry as nice as some of you are, you are no my girlfriends that I want to sit around with chit chatting about who, when or why I or anyone else should go topless or nude.

This was about TRAVEL, if you weren't responding about that then this isn't the website for you. If you did answer my question, then thank you for your help and advice.

Shy,

Then the best beach for you try may be Orient Beach on SXM. This because of Club O as a nauturist resort. The vast majority of the people on the beach are the guests of the resort. Therefore, you are not likely to encounter people who are there for "other" interests.

Also it doesn't matter if you decide what level of "lessness" you choose.
