What is the average age of most couples who vacation at Sandals? Are there many couples in their 40's? Also, which is best for first Sandals vacation, Sandals Negril or Sandals St. Lucia? We visited Jamaica during a cruise and was very disappointed with the island tour and Dunns River Falls (too many vendors), but we did not visit a resort.

My information is that Sandals is mostly 20's @ 30's honeymooners etc. Have you considered Couples Resorts? We are 40 something and have enjoyed both Ocho Rios and Negril. I agree that the vendors get a bit aggresive in Jamaica.
Ive seen the location of Sandals Negril from the beach. Looks nice. I lived on St Lucia for a couple of months and helped build Sandals St Lucia. Its in the Castries area. Supposed to be one of their best resorts. Good luck!

Sandals St.Lucia Resort and Spa I've heard is a more mature resort.I'm 22 and I went to Sandals Montego Bay and I felt like a baby. It's really a mixture of all ages. Sandals Royal Bahamian I've heard also has a more mature crowd. I loved Sandals I'm going to Antigua in Feb. Guests in Montego Bay in there 50-60's recommended Antigua and all they had were rave reviews.

We went to Sandals MoBay for our 20th anniversary. There were very few couples our age and one couple older, but most of the people there were on their honeymoon. I sort of felt like everyones mom!

Hi Barb:

My husband and I have been to Sandals Dunns River and Royal Bahamian. At both of the resorts, the ages were mixed. Royal Bahamian had a larger older crowd (50's and 60's)but there were couples of all ages.

Both resorts are wonderful, however, Dunns River had better service.

We are going to Sandals Negril in May for our anniversary. We can't wait!

We were back to Sandals Negril at the end of November and at the returnees dinner , I would have to say that most of the 40-50 people there were 35+...
It does vary from resort to resort but
I would have to say that MoBay is definately a younger crowd. Enjoy , where ever you go.

Hi Barb,

My wife and I are in are late 30's and have been to both Mobay and Royal Jamaican twice and are set to go to Royal Bahamian this spring. Mobay is younger but has the most returning guests of all the Sandals so there is a mixture of ages. Royal Jamaican is nice and we definitely fit in. All of the employees at the Royal Jamaican treat you alot better as it is a smaller resort and you and they get to know each other better. Both of the resorts are only minutes apart and both have excellent restaurants. Only down part about Mobay is it is at the end of the Sangster Airport runway, however, after the first day or so you will find yourself making light of the situation. We are thinking about going to Sandals Ochios Golf Resort? What is the age range there? How did you like it?

The resort diving is always included at
a Sandals resort. Did not get out to snorkel this trip as the latter part of the 2nd week , the winds came up and couldn't even get out diving, so just sat back and R&R'd it. I did speak to some people who thought it was OK but that's someone else's opinion. Let's just say that the snorkeling in Negril is NOT the same as say... in the Turks.

We just went for our honeymoon to sandals st lucia in december. we are in our early 30's. The couples ranged from people in their 20's to couples celebrating 25 anniversarys. It is more toward people in 20's and 30's, but definitely people in 40's! I would say sandals st lucia is better than Negril. First of all at St. Lucia it is safe to leave the resort and you'll definitely want to, it's a very beautiful island.
Also it's supposed to be the nicest of all the sandals.

We went to Sandal's Halcyon St. Lucia and the majority of the couples seemed to be in their mid to late 30's, but the range was from the 20's to 60's. I think it depends on the particular Sandal's resort you choose.

We spent our honeymoon (Sept.98) in St. Lucia at Sandals Halcyon... we loved the resort and hope to return for our 5th or 10th anniversary. As for ages, we are in our mid 20s and found most people at Halcyon were about the same age; ranging from early 20's - late 30's. We noticed a ton of people were on their honeymoon, so I imagine the age range also varies according to 'wedding season' (which I'd guess is June - Sept). Saying that though, we noticed many people in their 40s, 50s, & 60s and they all seemed to really be enjoying the resort and the island. I hear that the age range at the Sandals resorts does vary according to the season. I'd almost bet that the Jan-Apr time of year sees many less honeymooners in their early 30's.

Never to old!!!!!!!! Its a matter of how you feel. I just turned 40 and hubbie is 42 and we went to Negril Sandals last Feb and had the time of our life. We even parasailed and I am scared of hights, it was awsome.We are going to The Royal Bahamain in 3 weeks. The age groups are of all ages. I think that is what makes it so great.

I would agree with the previous post. We are a little older than the previous
poster and have never seen that an issue. The only exception to this "may"
be Sandals MoBay

Never too old to enjoy the time you have on this Earth. One of the great things I have learned the past two years of travling inthe Caribbean is the attitude of "don't know you & don'y care. Go to Sandals and have a great time. We did and we are 53 and 45 years of age and feel and act 30.
