Thanksgiving - which island has best beach that is WARM

hi folks,

im having so much trouble choosing an island for a thxgiving vacay - PLEASE HELP.

1. Going with 3 couples
2. we want a resort on the beach.
3. ocean should be warm and shallow and turquoise blah blah
4. weather should be warm
5. we prefer slightly remote beaches that are not TOO touristy.....

considering Harbour Island's Coral Sands hotel and Eulethera's Cocodimama but they do'nt have a facility to do tours to the Exuma cays like the bigger Nassau/Paradise Island resorts.

I'd like to be able to do that one day at least as I heard Exuma is gorgeous....

Please advise....

-P

If you want you truly get away from it all check out CoCo Point Lodge on Barbuda.

Other places that will fill your requirements:

Cape Santa Maria - Long Island, Bahamas

Fernandez Bay, Cat island, Bahamas

Amanyara or Parrot Cay, Providenciales, Turks & caicos

Cap Juluca or Cusinart, Anguilla

Caneel Bay, St. John

Little Dix Bay, Virgin Gorda

You should be OK as that time of year is still pretty warm all over the Caribbean & Bahamas but you are dealing with mother nature so there are never any guarantees.

You can research past weather data for any given location at:

www.wunderground.com

Using the "Travel & Activities" drop down menu select "Trip planner". Enter your intended destination and your planned dates of travel. You'll be directed to all sorts of data showing what actual weather conditions were for every day during that period over the last 10 years. Review the data and decide for yourself if you are comfortable with the type of weather you might encounter.

I hate to be negative, but we have had quite a few vacations ruined by bad weather at Thanksgiving. That time of year can still bring a lot of rain/clouds in the islands. Can you go later in the season when the weather is usually better? If not, I'd recommend going as far south as you can-- Aruba, Bonaire, Curacao, Trinidad- because those islands have more consistently good weather year round.

I too am the bearer of bad news. We have been to the Bahamas several times during this time of year and have had terrible weather. It has been cold and rainy. The water was cold too. Just our experience. We feel the Bahamas are better when done in the summer.
