Swept Away info

I am about to book a room at Swept Away for my honeymoon in January. I would love to hear from anyone with comments, tips, complaints, etc. about this resort. I am particularly wondering if it's worth the extra $ for the beachfront rooms.

Thanks.

We spent ten days at Sewpt Away in Feb '99. Was the most relaxing vacation we have ever taken. Very quiet and private. No disco or nightlife to speak of, but that was just what we were looking for. Very romantic, great beach, nice people , fantastic food. Only compliant was uncomfortable beds but other than that we are thinking of going back. If you need nightlife, you can get passes for Hedo down the street. A great place....

Beach front rooms are only worth the money if you get the lower floor.

Interesting - I have been told the exact opposite by two couples who have stayed there. They both said that the lower beachfront rooms provide far less privacy, because people strolling by can see right in. Plus you can't see the beach very well from some of the lower beachfront rooms.

However -- Dank, as to your original question about whether it's worth the upgrade, one of these couples told us that they book an atrium room every year because they're surrounded by beautiful foliage on all sides and it's like paradise. Unless you absolutely MUST SEE the beach from your verandah, it sounds like an atrium room is the best value on the property. The reservations manager told me that some of the atrium rooms are in fact in beachfront cottages, only they face away from the beach.

We're going in a few weeks for our first trip there, and my husband insisted on a beachfront. If you're interested and you send me an e-mail privately, I'll let you know when we return!

Jace
