I am planning my vacation for next year which will be in November. I would like to go to the carribean but in some areas, November is the worst time to go. Do anyone have any suggestions on places to go in November?? Accomodations??

My husband and I just returned from 10 days on beautiful St. John, USVI.

Our travel dates were Nov 24-Dec 3, and we had lovely weather, beautiful snorkeling, a nice day sail to Jost Van Dyke on BVI.... and the list goes on.

Hurricane season is over mid Nov., and if you're able to travel there before winter rates start on December 15, you cut your lodging prices in half. We paid 1,000 per week for a beautiful 3 BR oceanfront private home ~ on a cliff 50 ft. above the crashing waves. It was heavenly.

St. John won't disappoint you.

I've only been to the Carribean twice, 11/95 and 11/00, both times to Montserrat. Loved it! It's relaxing, no casinos or wild night life. Very nice people. We rented a villa w/pool and car through Carribean Connection islandhoppingexperts.com. A caterer works out of a kitchen next door - we bought a couple of wonderful meals from him. Montserrat is an hour ferry ride from Antigua. I found it interesting this trip to see the affects of the volcano the past 5 years. (It did cough up some ash a couple times while we were there this trip). Picked our own relatively fresh pumice stones off of a dry mudflow. We also took a guided hike into the rain forest. If the volcano or closed airport haven't ruled it out for you, the tourism board's number is 664-491-7430 for current brochures and information. It's pretty hard to find any travel info any where else these days.
