Strange Restaurant Question...

Is there a restaurant in Barbados that serves Turtle meat? Couple traveling with us wants to try it. Is there a certain way they are supposed to have it prepared if its available? Also, where is the best restaurant for Conch Steak or Conch Fritters?

Thanks for your help.

I am sure these creatures are protected but am equally sure someone somewhere will be able to serve up a dish. Have tried conch and do not like it, very chewy and difficult to swallow.

Don - conch, prepared properly, is tender and tasty and not at all difficult to swallow.

I've read that Restaurant at Southseas in the South serves alligator, etc. Maybe you will find turle meat there. They are a 4 star restaurant (as good if not better than the west coast restaurants).

Would not encourage anyone to try turtle meat as most turtles in the Caribbean are endangered.

Conch is one of my absolute favorite things to eat in the islands.

Try it stewed, cracked, ceviched, frittered - yum! A reasin d' etre for traveling in the region!
