I've actually stayed at the Countess a few years ago. I thought it was absolutely beautiful. There are stunning views of Magen's bay as well as views from the opposite side of the ocean and surrounding islands. It sits right atop the mountain (I think they call it a "mountain.") and the views out either side are really breathtaking. It has 2 bedrooms that are actually separate from the main house, just up a spiral staircase from a courtyard area. These are nice because they seem private, yet if you're staying with a family you can congregate in the house as well. The house has so much glass you almost feel like you're outside in certain areas.

Though it's not at the beach, it's a very short ride down the mountain to Magen's bay beach.

I would jump at the chance to stay there again if someone offered it to me! We just like trying new islands, so rarely return to the same place.

I think you've made an excellent choice. Will you have small children with you? If so be careful on the spiral staircase.

Stephanie

Hi Kim,

The Countess is one of the most beautiful villas on St. Thomas. You are also fortunate enough to be one of the last people to stay there, as it is being taken off the rental market this spring. Please email me if you have any other questions on villas in the Caribbean. Thanks
