St Thomas Ideas????

I'm leaving for St. Thomas and was wondering if anyone stayed at the Wyndham Sugar Bay? How is this? Any suggestions for things to do that are safe and fun for day and evening? Thanks!

Yes, but did not care for it. That only means that it was too much like any hotel in the States and didn't reflect the islands in any way. I'd recommend Point Pleasant Resort which would be in the same price bracket. It is at the east end of the island in what used to be a botanical garden. They have duplexes that offer terrific privacy nestled in the tropical foliage. Each half of each duplex is completely isolated from the other half so that you can see nothing but the great view of the sea and the islands from your private verandah. Cars are available for anyone's use.

We went to St. Thomas last April. We rented wave runners one afternoon and had a blast! We also went snorkeling in St. John. At night, go to the Hotel 1829 for dinner - it is a beautiful restarant. Splurge on the souffle!

Go to Coral World---not for the attraction itself (it's a very average "marine life" park) but for the snorkeling by the rocks near the beach next to it.
They rent gear right on the beach ($10) for everything you need for the day, and there's a few places to get some food and drinks. Be aware that the cruise ships dump tourists here for the day, so either go before 1 pm or after 4:30 or so and you'll miss the rush.

If you have kids Wyndam Sugar Bay is a great place to stay. We stayed there last Feb. with our 3 young kids and they had a blast. the kids club was one of the better ones we've experienced and it kept them busy all day and even in the evening with movies. for adults only i would not recommend it unless you love all-inclusives that cater to families. going without kids i'd recommend the Ritz-Carlton. and be sure to check out Duffy's Love Shack in Red Hook - it's an experience!!
