St Thomas
Hi-
We are heading to St. Thomas next week and would love to take an excursion over to St Johns and check out the 'Bath" - I believe they are located there. Does anyone have any suggestions on how we could go about booking the excursion. I was thinking of doing it through our hotel? We are staying at the Marriott Frenchman's Reef.
Thanks for any help or suggestions.
Judy

You are somewhat misinformed. The Baths are on Virgin Gorda (in the BVI's) , not St. John (by the way there's no "s" - St. john is the island in the USVI's and St. John's is the capital of Antigua a completely different place).
Yes, you can probably book an excursion to the Baths through your hotel but it is quite a distance (it will take you all day to get there and back) and will be pricey.
Do a google search "Getting to the Baths from St. Thomas" and you'll find plenty of information.

you will need passports. outstanding excursion on a very fast boat which means you get to see a lot.
you can ferry to st. john from red hook in 20 mins. then catch a cab to the beach of your choice.

www.usvi.net/usvi/ferry.htm
ferry schedule for both you can easily do day trips.
Frenchman's Reef nice older have stayed there several times.

The Baths are beautiful and very unique, definitely doable. Of course, staying on Virgin Gorda is even better.
St. John is also fabulous, especially if you rent a car for the day and visit a couple of the beautiful beaches.
While staying at Frenchman's, a great splurge would be dinner at Blue Havana, located at the end of the resort. Beautiful atmosphere and so good! We were there last April. Enjoy!

i believe it's havana blue, but it is one of the best restaurants on st. thomas!
you might enjoy a cocktail at the top of the tramway ride (across from havensight mall which you'll pass on way to frenchman's from airport) sunset is gorgeous with sun sparkling on the harborr.
