St Maarten

We are planning to visit St Maarten in February and have
reservations at the Mt Vernon Hotel. Does anyone
have experience staying at this hotel or in the area?

Mt Vernon is in the North side of the Island. You will need a car to get around to the other beaches, restaurants and shopping. I do believe, however that Mt Vernon offers some shuttle service to Casino's etc. Have fun, enjoy!

STAYED AT CUPECOY BEACH CLUB SEVERAL YEARS AGO. OUTSTANDING 1,2 & 3 BEDROOM CONDOS WITH A NICE POOL RIGHT ON THE GORGEOUS BEACH LOOKING WEST ON DUTCH SIDE. ABOUT 1 MILE FROM FRENCH BORDER JUST ACCROSS STREET FROM NICE CASINO. I MY WIFE AND I RECOMMED IT AS A GREAT PLACE TO STAY. WE'LL BE GOING BACK.

We stayed there in Jan. 1994. It was our 1st time to the island. I thought it was a nice place, there are many better, but it was still nice. It is on the North end of Orient beach, the other end is clothing optional. The beach is about a mile and a half long. The food was so so. You will need to take a taxi to go anywhere, and they can be expensive, ask the cost before you go, we had a $60 surprise once. The walk to the beach is down hill and thus up hill when heading back to the rooms. The second time we went we stayed at Green Cay villas, and Loved that, better place we thought. it depends on if you are traveling with others, alone could be expensive in a villa by yourselves. We had two other couples along.
