We will be traveling to St. Maarten the end of January and staying at the Le Flamboyant. Would like informtion about the hotel, the area, or any must see/do attractions. What is the weather like at that time of year?

haven't yet been ourselves but are going 9 or 10 jan 98 on the reccomendation of our sailing partners who have been several times in the past. will be staying at Orient Bay. are told there are great restaurants along the west coast and that the beachs/snorkeling are real pretty along Orient. am told the rest of the island is typical of most of the carribean....not quite as tropical as one would want but still nice. our friends have been all over carrib and chose to go to st. Marten often...that's a reccomendation! enjoy...we plan to

We just returned from St Maarten Tuesday. We go three times per year as we own property on the Dutch Side. Le Flamboyant in on Nettle Bay about 5-6 minutes from Marigot(the capital on the French Side). Weather should be good (80's). Restaurants are great. Gambling on the Dutch side only. Renting a car is a must if you plan to tour the Island, go shopping both in Marigot and Phillipsburg, and try some of the Island's great restaurants. If you want recommendations on car rental or restaurants let me know. Hope you enjoy the Island we have been going since 1976.

We will bestaying at Nettle Bay Beach Club in March. Did you happen to notice the Club and if so, its condition and appearance. Any info about it would be helpful. Thanx

I stayed at Le Flamboyant hotel in June. It should be a lot more populated in January. June is low season. The hotel is nice and clean, but you would do better to eat elsewhere. Food at the hotel is...eh. The people at the hotel are very friendly.
You can rent a car at M&M Rentals just up the street. If you'd like to have a nice dinner, try La Vie En Rose in Marigot or any of the many restaurants in Grand Case. The SCUBA diving is great. Try horseback riding at the OK Coral in Orient Bay. But, no matter what you do, you can't help but have a great time - I did.
If you can, please say a big "Hello from Carol in San Francisco" to my friend Thierry Girard at the Sea Dolphin SCUBA Center, on the premises of the hotel. --Thanks. Have a blast!
