All inclusive w/ good diving

Wife & I have dived many Carib. islands, some with Club Med. Don't have time or inclination for vacation planning after daily rat race so thinking of all inclusive with diving, want a little more than simply comfortable but not necessarily luxury accomod. Looking @ Sandles St. Lucia, any other ideas?? Thanks.

Bruce: My husband and I are divers also. We haven't been to St. Lucia diving yet but our friends just got back from Sandles in St. Lucia and they had the greatest time. They absolutely loved it. They said it was beautiful. Now they are not divers but our friend did a resourt course. He still can't stop talking about it. We have been to Provo in Turks & Caicos and have been to Grand Cayman. We will be in St. Kitts in three weeks. None of these places we've stayed at have been all inclusive. I would like to hear about what islands you have been to and how the diving compared. E-mail me if you have time. Looking forward to hearing from you.

My wife and I recently spent two wonderful weeks at Point Village in Jamaica (about 15 minutes east of Negril). The diving is great and the resort has a 5 star PADI dive centre. As far as specific dive sites are concerned, I strongly recommend "Paradise Reef" (lots of rays...) and "Sharks Reef" (the name says it all). You'll also have access to great snorkeling right from the beach. Try the caves! Enjoy!

My husband and I stayed at an all-inclusive in the Cayman Islands, it was on the smaller island of Cayman Brac. There are only two hotels on the island and they were both all-inclusive. We stayed at the Divi Tiara, which if you are a diver I'm sure you've already heard about. It's not like a club med or Sandals, it was very relaxed and casual. We loved it. We are not divers, but they say the Caymans are one of the best!! We did do the resort course and went diving once and the water was very clear. They also have diving trips over to Little Cayman which is an even smaller island.

Old news from November 1997, but still a consideration. Four people die in diving boat explosion at Sandals St. Lucia.

American Dies of Injuries from Scuba-boat Explosion

CASTRIES, St. Lucia (AP)
An American who was injured when a boat full of scuba divers exploded has died, a hotel spokesman said Tuesday, as questions arose about whether the blast was an accident.
It was the fourth boat explosion in St. Lucia in the past 13 months.
One yachting newspaper suggested three previous bomb attacks might be
connected to a turf war over tourists.
A Swiss woman and two St. Lucian diving instructors also died in
Sunday's blast, which shattered the 28-foot boat into shards of fiber-
glass, said Evatt Bloomfield, manager of St. Lucia's Sandals Resort.
Paul George, 38, from Little Silver, N.J., was evacuated to Jackson
Memorial Hospital in Miami, where he died Monday.

I went to Turks & Caicos, Club Med last year in October. It was my first experience to SCUBA diving and it was great. The people (both guests and hosts) were very friendly. This Club Med was geared to both singles and couples. (No children facilities) I also understand the diving at Columbus Isle, (for couples) is one of the best in the world.
