ST. LUCIA//WYNDHAM MORGAN BAY RESORT

My fiancee and I are going to be staying at the Wyndham Morgan Bay resort in St. Lucia during the second week in June. I'd like to hear about this resort. I would also like to hear about the weather in June and places to see. We will be on our honeymoon. Thanks for your help.

Our trip to St. Lucia was basically a week-long family reunion for 14 of us, ranging from an 80-year old to a 7-month old, covering 4-generations. St. Lucia is quite a mountainous island with lush green vegetation and a wide variety of very colorful flowers and plants. As an American, driving a car on St. Lucia would provide numerous breath-taking, sometimes heart-stopping, moments. Driving is on the opposite side as in US, as St. Lucia is British. The roads are very, very winding and quite narrow. Some of the scenery, with the views out over the coastline and bays, were spectacular. St. Lucia can even boast of having a volcano that is "asleep", but continues to relieve pressure via steam vents and boiling volcanic mud pits. We witnessed this, along with the "unpleasant" aroma of sulfur in the immediate vicinity of this volcanic mud pit area. St. Lucia is really a very lovely island with it's beauty and terrain.

We stayed at the Wyndham Morgan Bay Resort. The resort was very nice all-inclusive operation (including all the alcoholic drinks you can handle) with a very nice and varied set of amenities including "free" water skiing, tubing, and banana boat rides. There were several sailboats and hobie cats included in the package for the sailing enthusiasts. Not free activities include waverunners (not jet-skis) and parasailing. Snorkeling off the resort beach was NOT good as the water was very very cloudy all the time. Nice swimming pool!!! The rooms were very nice with A/C and cable TV with many channels. Also available was tennis (hard-surface and grass courts) and a chipping green for golfers. There is golf available at a regulation course, which some of us did. A nice little challenging 9-hole course. But if you play, try for a morning teetime as it was quite humid.

Tours of the island are available and highly recommended. Let them do the driving!!!

If I had to mention anything negative, it would be the very apparent arrogant attitude that most islanders seem to exhibit. Seems like when we would ask for something from the hotel, restaurant, or bar staff they gave off a feeling like we were bothering them. Gosh, we thought we were the customers. But they seem to act like we were bothering them. Occasionally when ordering drinks at a meal, they just forgot about the order. Guess Americans just expect too much.
