St. Lucia Help

Traveling to St.Lucia next month. From the postings I have read it seems the beach at Sandals Golf Resort is lacking---- any suggestions to make the trip better.... are the beaches at the Halcyon nicer?

Also.. would you suggest visiting another beach for a day. We are probally going to go on the day and/or sunset sail as well as the land/sea day tour. Also thinking of taking teh helicopter from one airport to the other on the way down.

I have also heard of a boat that can take you to surrounding islands for the day-- anyone know anything about that?

We booked deluxe- rather stay the extra nights than have a nicer room but I think I am going to upgrade to premium or lux before we leave. --If I have the extra money... We are return guests (thrid time for Sandals) so I am hoping for an upgrade as well!

Any suggestions about the island or the resort would be greatly appreciated! I am looking for a wonderfully relaxing and romantic vacation- I just hope that I picked the right place!

Well we have not yet been here but are looking forward to going in May. I just thought I would comment on what I have been reading about this place. I have been back and forth (yes we're going, no we're not) all based on other people's opinions and experiences. Well I think I would like to make my own opinion. So we are going and I believe it will be great! I'm excited about the stay at one play at two program. That's a plus in it's self. I believe it's what you make out of your trip and of course who your with that will determine the outcome of your vacation. So enjoy and I can't wait to hear how it went. I plan on writing about my trip as soon as I get back! Good Luck!

If you are a Sandals fan, you will love Golf and Spa. We were there a year ago and loved it. Make sure to eat at least once at the Italian Restaurant - we thought it was the best for dinner, although LaToc was good too. Good service, easy to get drinks. We had the Grand Luxe Oceanview room and were very happy with it. You won't spend alot of time in your room, so it might not be necessary to upgrade to the concierge level unless you want more privacy.

We did a day sail which takes you to the other end of the island to see the gardens, volcano, lunch with a great view and snorkeling on the way back. I would recommend it. Just see the tour desk at the hotel for arrangements.

Don't worry - you will have a great trip!

We went to St.Lucia last year at this time. We booked only two weeks prior to leaving and could only get a room at Sandals Halcyon. My first choice had been Sandals Golf Resort so I was initially disappointed because I had heard how wonderful the Golf Resort was. All that changed when we arrived. We had the best time. The beach was so much better than at the Golf Resort. If you are truly looking for a relaxing, romantic vacation than Halcyon is the place to be. It is smaller than the Golf Resort so there are less people. The beauty of Sandals resorts is that if you stay at one you can take advantage of all of the amenities of the other. We met several couples who spent everyday on Halcyon's beach even though they were staying at the Golf Resort. The Golf Resort seems to cater to a younger crowd and seemed a lot more hectic. Hope this is helpful. Have a good trip.

First off the beach at the Golf Resort is very nice, not huge but nice. We did the Day Sail and Sunset cruise and had a ball on both of them. We also booked deluxe and were upgraded to an oceanview suite and yes, we also are returnees. You picked a beautiful resort and you will be very happy. the food at all the resturants is very good and the staff is wonderful. Happy travels! email me if you like!
