St. Lucia

We are going to St. Lucia in April '99.
Does anyone have any experience staying at the Windjammer Beach Resort? How is the snorkeling on St. Lucia?

Hi,
Unfortunately, I would seriously consider staying somplace else unless you are sure that this place is what you want, Because I thought it was a terrible ripoff(its expensive), for what was offered. The beach is awful(small and dirty, not pretty white sand, to say the least)...everyday I was asked to buy drugs, allday. Overall I was Sad that I went to St.Lucia and will not go back there.
Jan
We are also going to St.Lucia in April of '99. We are staying at the Windjammer and are interested in hearing the experiences of others.
Anton's posting says he stayed at Club St.Lucia in 1993 and it was an extreme rip-off. He never wants to go back to St.Lucia. Now, he says Windjammer was a rip-off.

Is it just me?????
Joyce

Jan:

The Windjammer is FABULOUS! I was there with friends in May '97. There's a great jazz festival on the island every May. I think the Windjammer is one of the island's best. Though I'm not sure about the snorkeling, I did a great island tour by boat -- arranged by the hotel -- that made stops for snorkeling. We found the hotel to be quite helpful with recommendations and incredibly professional and warm.

By the way, your vacation in incomplete without going to a "jump up" (block party) that is held weekly.

Best wishes for a great holiday.
