<BR>St Lucia is a very beautiful island, but as soon as you step out of the hotel, you'll get pestered.<BR><BR>St .Kitts is lovely and low key - Ottleys Plantation is a fab hotel with very friendly American owners, although it's not right on the beach. Stay away from Rawlins - a most unfriendly hotel!<BR>

I found these posts to be most helpful. I agree that all the Caribbean Is. are poor and the vendors can sometimes be too aggressive, but nothing to worry about. Certainly nothing that would deter me from vacationing on a beautiful island.

go to le meridien in st. martin. it is beautiful, you can rent a car and drive around the island. it is in a cove and surrounded by greenery and a beautiful beach. There are private beaches on the island that are so secluded. amazing restaurants in grand case and marigot and you can even go over to the dutch side (st marteen) for some shopping. it is truly paradise there.
