St. Kitts Marriott Questions

Hello! My husband and I are staying at the St. Kitts Marriot at the end of July and I have a million questions. I'll start with the ones about the Marriott:

1. I have heard that the Marriott will exchange currency for a fee. Does anyone know the amount of the fee and how it compares to that of the local bank(s)?

2. Has anyone played tennis at the resort? If so, what are the courts like?

3. Is the pool at the Marriott really open 24hrs?

4. Is there parasailing through the tour company at the resort or anywhere else on the island?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

I have not stayed at the Marriott but I believe they have an ATM that dispenses US currency.

I get my EC dollars at a bank ATM. Call your bank and ask about their fees. Then you can compare when you get there.

I've never seen anyone parasailing but there is Mr. X's watersports on the Caribbean side of the island, about a 15 minute walk from your hotel. You can rent jet skis and snorkeling equipment.

Someone else may know about parasailing.

If you haven't already, take a look at the St. Kitts tourism site:

There's a lot to do in St. Kitts, and it's worth leaving the hotel to explore the island. The scenery is beautiful and the people are friendly.

Tennis courts are brand new and are lighted for night use.
Never seen a parasail on the island.

There's no parasailing on St. Kitts.

Don't worry about exchanging your money. $US are accepted everywhere. If you do want to exchange currencies you'll get between $2.65 and $2.70 EC to $1US.

As Santa says Tennis courts are only a year or two old. They are in excellent condition.

Don't really remember if pool is open 24 hours.

This will probably be of no help, but we were there last June and US dollars and credit cards are accepted easily. Can't remember about the pool being open due to the time I spent in the casino! It is a beautiful property and the rooms are huge. I hope that you enjoy your trip. Don't miss Turtle Beach Bar and Grill for an afternoon hang out!

You can exchange your money if you want, but you can also use US. Your choice. The Marriott does have ATM's that give out US money as well. I've never played tennis there but I am sure that like everything else there you will find them to be in great condition. I'm pretty sure that the pool is open 24 hours, you can also hit the beach for a midnight stroll. As for parasailling. They do not offer that on the island.

1. There is an ATM in the hotel that dispenses Eastern Caribbean dollars (EC$2.65/US$1). I paid a US$1.80 fee per transaction.
2. We didn't play tennis. The courts are on the southern edge of the hotel complex. They looked ok but not deluxe.
3. We saw people swimming at all hours.
4. There is, of course, an activity desk. We did not see anyone parasailing during our visit. The Marriott does not have a marina anywhere near it.
