St John Villa Rental
Has anyone rented a villa on St. John that did not have air conditioning? We are going on our honeymoon at the end of April and there are a couple of beautiful villas that do not have any air in any of the rooms-do you think that we will be uncomfortable-should we stick with one that has air?

I have not rented a villa in St. John, but I spent a couple of weeks on a sailboat there at various times of year. Usually the tradewinds keep you comfortable, especially if the villa is on a hill where you catch the breeze. I think you'll be comfortable without air-conditioning, especially in April (and this is from a Texan who LOVES A/C). Consider this: Caneel Bay Resort, which charges from $500+ per day does not have air-conditioning. Enjoy your honeymoon.

we rented a villa on St. John this past July without air conditioning, and it was unbearable......if we ever go back, we would recommend going to Gallows Poitn, and they have some great honeymoon deals. but definitley get a unit with a/c.....the extra money is worth it, because it gets unberable hot.

We spent 10 days on St. John in July a few years ago, and stayed at Caneel Bay. It was wonderful even w/out air conditioning. They have a good degree of room selections, and some wonderful restaurants. A great place for a honeymoon! Good luck!
We rented a villa in May and the bedrooms were air conditioned and the rest of the place had ceiling fans and wonderful tradewinds. It was not unbearable at all for us. The villa was L'Autre Monde in Chocolate Hole. Wonderful view of St. Thomas, the Westin, and surrounding neighborhoods. Feel free to e-mail me. We loved it and are planning a return trip.

Ramona
