St John in June

I usually go to St John in March but am considering a trip in June. Has anyone been there in June? Is it very rainy? How crowded are the beaches?

You should get a quick reply on the USVI forum. The beaches certainly should be less crowded than March which is in the high season. Other than Trunk Bay we didn't find any of St. John's crowded.

We went in June last year. One morning was a bit windy, and one afternoon it lightly rained for maybe 30 minutes. The weather was great overall. The beaches were not crowded but then again we would go early morning (we had our 18-month-old-at-the-time there so we were up early). One day we did Trunk Bay later in the day and it was crowded that particular time.

Have been to St. John in June, 2 & 4 years ago. Like to go then because it is cheaper & before hurricane season(at least the height of hurricane season.) Don't recall a lot of rain, maybe an afternoon shower. Beaches, except Trunk Bay, have never been crowded. I seem to recall a big event for July 4th weekend there.

There is a 4th of July celebration that takes about a week. It culimnates with a parade on the 4th as well as fireworks. This year it's on the 5th as the 4th is Sunday.
The Virgin Islads is ideal year long. We have a summer season as well as winter. It is cheaper in the summer and a little hotter. But if you worry about it being unbearable, forget it. It's nowhere as unbearable as say, NYC in the summer, it's cooler!
It rains off and on just like anytime else in the year. It is hurricane season, but unless one is bearing down on us, not to worry! Get trip insurance.
