St. Croix hotels
I am planning a trip in November with my boyfriend and don't mind kids but from all the postings, it is starting to sound like it is more a family resort than a place for romance. Is this true? Also, is there any advice on the Bucaneer vs. Carambola?

Hi:
Carambola is nice but not near much except a golf course. The Bucaneer is in a much better location. Both hotels are quite expensive but I prefer
The Bucaneer and you have tennis courts a golf course and a great beach. Buck
Island is also nearby which is definetly worth a visit. Christiansted
the main town is not far away.
Have fun.

Hi,
We stayed at the Buccaneer during the off season, and while the resort is family friendly, it was certainly not over run with kids. We found it beautiful, quiet and relaxing, all the things that make a resort romantic in our opinion! Whether or not there are too many kids during the busy season, I don't know. There were plenty of couples when we were there, and probably four or five weddings there that week.
If you go, try to get beachfront by Mermaid beach. Our room location was great!

G,
It has been about 4 years since I've been but a couple of other spots, Hotel in the Quay (pronounced Key) which is on Island in Christenstead Harbor. You take a small ferry about 100 years.
Also, there is a nice hotel/restaurant out near Duffy's that someone might remember the name of. Great restaurant and I think there is a hotel, as well.
Have fun!

The Villa Madeleine on the East End of the island is somewhat secluded, but a terrific place with few children, at least the 3 times we have stayed there. We are going to stay at the Divi Carina Bay Resort in late Oct-early Nov and being there that time of year will probably not have too many kids either. St. Croix has alot of nice, romantic restaurants with some nightlife and places to go snorkeling or scuba diving. That time of year should not be a time when alot of families will be on vacation. Hope to see you there.
