Will be going to St Croix Feb 23 - March 4. Any recommendations for either the Divi Resort or the Sugar Beach Condos?

St. Croix is a great island to rent a villa. We stayed at Fjell House and loved it. Contact Mary Simpson Sutherland Tours St. Croix . she was wonderful as was her home we rented. Comes complete with the nicest maid Anita, and my kids loved the fact that Mary's dog would come visit. The house over looks Buck island, and it is on the East end of the island that is absolutly beautiful. Plan to rent a car there is lots to see and do , but everything is spread out.

Haven't stayed at Divi or Sugar Beach, but have driven past both. Divi is on south shore, more isolated; Sugar Beach is closer to Christiansted and adjacent to several other resorts. Divi has a casino. Both have decent beaches.

I have friends who have stayed at Sugar Beach twice and loved it. Like any condo unit, I would expect that the quality can vary from unit to unit depending on the owners. It is near the projects, but my friends never found that to be a problem and often walked to the grocery store during the day.

The Divi IS further away, but it is an easy drive into town. The units are nice and the resort offers many amenities. If you have kids this would probably be a better choice as there are activities and watersports for them. A personal preference: I would take a waterfront room rather than the hillside villas (even though they are very nice) as they are a short hike uphill which I don't need after a hard day's work at the beach

We'll be staying at Sugar Beach while we're condo-hunting June 25-July 3. We'll let ya know how it is!
