St.Barths is not a kid-friendly place. Organized chidren's activities are few and far between if you can find them at all. Also be aware if you're bringing kids that all St-Barth beaches are topless and 3 are swimsuit optional, with about 25% of the bathers opting for no swimsuit. On the other hand, it does have some excellent beaches and beats Nevis hands down for the number of really good restaurants. Some top quality accommodations on beach include St-Barth Isle de France, Eden Rock, and Guanahani. The best place on the island, Le Toiny, is not on a beach (5 minute drive).

My husband and I went to St. Barts for our honeymoon and have been to Nevis twice, once with our first child. Nevis is much more interesting for kids. You'll see monkeys in the trees and goats, pigs, and donkeys on the roads. The local people are extremely friendly and the Four Seasons is beautiful. Nevis is lush and jungly with excellent hiking and walking. St.Barts is arid and rocky with most travel by small open jeeps. Most people rent secluded villas on St. Barts so it would be good with kids only if you were going with another family. Restaurants on St. Barts are very pricey and not always worth it. There are great restaurants on Nevis but if you stay at the Four Seasons you'll probably want to eat there most of the time, or on the beach at Sunshines (great lobster sandwiches).<BR>Elyse
