Don't expect to find snorkeling off Grand Anse Beach. There are however, other relatively good spots to snorkel in Grenada. While Genada remains our favorite island for lots of reasons the snorkeling is not as good as Bonaire, Anegada, Virgin Gorda or the Florida Keys.

We honeymooned at Spice Island Inn and loved it. It was before the renovations tho. We had a "pool" suite - it was perfect - such luxury we will never spend on again!
We did a few great snorkeling trips with a local guide and his boat. NOt much to see on Grande Anse tho. We LOVE Grenada!

I haven't stayed at the spice island but have been past it. Although the resort looks nice I would not want to stay on Grand Anse beach. Although it is supposed to be "the beach" of the island we found that it the area as a whole wasn't as pretty as some others. There were also more people milling around. I would recommend a hotel in L'anse epines (secret harbor or calabash). morne rouge is a gorgeous beach and we met some people staying at the Mariposa on morne rouge who were very happy with it although I don't think its very luxurious.

I'm not sure that I agree with Jane. I have been to Grenada and although Grand Anse may have more people milling around, it certainly is not busy and we were there in January. We have stayed at Secret Harbour and visited the Calabash for a drink and were not happy with either one. Secret Harbour is in a beautiful location but it does not have a beach and the accommodations are just o.k. We also were not very impressed with the beach at Calabash although it is a very nice resort. Grenada is beautiful and the Spice Island Beach Resort is one of the nicest resorts on the island.
