Short-Trip November Destination?

I want to have a sun vacation for a long weekend (4 days) for my anniversary in early November. Because of the short time, I'm looking for a short trip from NYC. Any suggestions?

Hi gigo; Try the island of Providenciales in the Turks & Caicos. I know of many people in your area who go often and the travel time is not bad at all.

gigo,
Given your 4 day time limit, any Caribbean destination that doesn't have a direct flight from NY or Newark, would not be a good choice. I'm sure the last thing you want to to kill three hours on a layover in Miami or Puerto Rico.

You might want to look at St. Martin/St. Maarten. It has hotels to meet high to moderate budgets, great restaurants on the French Side (in Marigot and Grand Case), nice beaches, and casino's/shopping if that's your thing.

The best part is that there are direct flights from NY into the Island.

Some people rave about Cancun. See a below post to make you own decision. It also has direct flights and great beaches.

I would definitely consider only those with a direct flight that would get you in early afternoon and leave late coming home. Don't know an easier way of doing it but checking aa.com and other airlines islands by island to see if that can happen out of EWR, JFK or LGA (avoiding LGA if you can!). I know Co and AA have directs to St. Thomas, Antigua, St. Martin, Barbados and probably others that I have forgotten! Each island has their own personality and if you say what interests you the most (luxury hotels/resorts, snorkling, diving, just relaxing, great dining, etc), you'll probably get better responses.
