Sandals St. Lucia Average Age

We are going to Sandals St. Lucia in April. I have been reading posts on various forums and most of the talk is about honeymooners. My husband and I are in our late 30's and celebrating 10 years of marriage but are concerned that we will be vacationing with a crowd restricted to young people. If anybody has been can they comment on the age group??? Thanks alot.
My husband and I just got back from Sandals St. Lucia last Thursday and I can say that even though there were a lot of honeymooners, the majority of people staying there were not that young. Most people seemed to be around our age (let's just say late 30's). One night we went to dinner at the Japanese restaurant called Kimono's where you sit at a table for 10. Two of the couples were early 20's, mid 20's, another seemed to be around our age and the last couple was probably late 50's. My husband and I pretty much kept to ourselves and we had a great time. Any questions, just ask.

What age of the other people in Sandals has to do with YOU having a great time? We were there in November and we saw all ages. We estimated the youngest couple 20-22 and oldest 70-75. It looked like those youngest and oldest had a fantastic time too. We talked to many people without thinking that they may be too young or too old for having convesation with. Have a great time!

Thanks Nancy. What room group did you stay in, we'll be staying in a premium room but in the brochures, etc. it doesn't have any pictures of those types of rooms.

And, to the other person who responded, I don't believe I mentioned that the age of the people was going to impede our vacation experience, it was a question posed to determine the types of activities and nightlife - having travelled quite a bit over the last several years I have noticed there is a difference when a resort is catering to a younger/older group of people.

Actually, my husband and I stayed in a 1 bedroom honeymoon oceanview villa and we overlooked the Piton Restaurant and pool. We had a mini-bar in the room and 2 tv's, separate living room and balcony downstairs and king size bed and bathroom upstairs. Even though you can pretty much get a drink whenever you want, it was nice to sit on the balcony at night and have a beer (or two). We splurged for the concierge room since we didn't take a vacation last summer, and it was worth it. There was a wide range of ages at the resort and everyone seemed glad to be on vacation (or honeymooning) there! To tell you the truth, being in the sun and in the pool and/or ocean all day pretty much did us in for the night. We were up early most mornings and hit the rack fairly early most nights. One night we did stay up past 12:00 when we went to Herbie's Piano Bar (a sing along place and no, we did not sing along, just laughed with everyone else!), but neither one of us are night owls anyway. They do have a disco and nightclub, but I'm sorry I can't tell you anything about the nightlife. For the last 9 years, my job requires that I have to get up at 4:45 a.m. and that's a hard habit to break, even on the weekends. And just to let you know, my husband and I are both in our late 30's (not that old, right?) We had a great time in St. Lucia and I'm sure you will too.

My wife Phyllis and I are in our mid. 50's and have been to Sandals St. Lucia three times. There are some honeymooners, but they are not the majority. I'd say only 20% are on their honeymoon and that would include those in their 30's or more.
It's a wonderful place and you can enjoy the other Sandals 15-20 minutes away. We've been to Sandals Antiqua three time (quieter and more laid back), and several in Jamaica and The Bahamas and Sandals St. Lucia is our favorite. We've recommended it for our son on his honeymoon, his best man on his, and our Godson on his, and they all thanked us very much for doing so. So yes, there are honeymooner's, but the place is very large and you can be floating by the pool-bar while pool volley ball is going on in a different section. The pool is that big. If we had to make a choice, this is the one to go to and to return to.
Most people are American, but there certainly are some Brits (you guys?), Germany and other Europeans.
The best advise we can give is to make sure you go the extra expense for a suite, even if it's the lowest level suite. Without one, you might have trouble getting into the desired restaurant on a particular evening. Just about everything should be available by using the suite's concierge.
Good luck and enjoy.

Sandals is mostly honeymooners (actually almost all) Why do you think that means YOUNG. The average age of marriage thes days is around 30. Most people don't get married at 21 anymore and think about all those honeymooners on their second marriage. You will see all ages at Sandals in fact very few are in their early 20s and most are around 28-35 but most are on their honeymoons which means more couple activities and a lot of people going to their room early. At 29 and 28 on our honeymoon last year we loved it!!!

i was at sandals antigua valentine's week for a vacation (decided against sandals for our honeymoon 2 years ago because we didnt want to feel like every other honeymoon couple.) there were 8 weddings on feb 14! most of them were in there mid to late 30's. my husband is 33 and i am 29. there were more older couples than younger. we meet just as many people in there late 30's-late 60's as 20-30 somethings. had a great time...with everyone! (only 3 couples we met at the night club were on there honeymoon, and then the only way we knew was they excused themselves for the evening earlier than us married folk!) I noticed most of the over 30 crowd, not on honeymoon, go to sandals for a "nice" vacation, as we did. met lots of other couples looking to meet and hang out all together. was a great time. would assume st lucia is fairly similiar to antigua. go and enjoy!!!

We went to Sandals StLucia Golf 2/01 with 3 other couples. The service, food, and pools are great. We didnt spend extra on our rooms since we figured we wouldnt be in them much and we were right. We had no problems with reservations at any of the restaurants at either resort. The nightlife is there if you want it or you can relax. There is definitely something for everyone. Look for Lubron by the pool and Elijah at the piano bar. You will meet lots of fun people who will make your trip even more enjoyable.Have fun!

Hi, We just returned from Sandals St.Lucia Golf Resort. We loved it and dont worry about the ages there are all different ages. We are in our 40's and it was one of our best trips. The resort is huge but not over powering it is spread out. The food was great and the weather perfect. we will return there again.

We just returned from Sandal St. Lucia and loved it. We are in our late 30's also and found that it was a nice place. The resort has three pools and most of the people hang around the main pool. The other two pools may have a couple of people in them, so if you want to be around alot of people you can. If you want to be by yourself you can also. Lots of private places to go and lots of places to go to be around people. I have some pictures I took of Sandals and St.Lucia if you would like to see them go here: http://www.worldisround.com/articles/4999/
