Sandals St. Lucia

We will be celebrating our 10th anniv. at Sandals St. Lucia in May. We are interested in information about the resort, what to do, what not to do, what restaurants are best, how's the waterskiing? Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

We stayed 2 yrs ago. A great property. There is lots to do for watersports, golf, touring the island. Get a suite - we stayed up on the bluff overlooking
the resort. The concierge service for suites is fantastic - you can get just about anything you want...the cookies are incredible..sneak some to your room. Check at concierge for activites; do a jungle tour and aropund the island - you'll meet and see natives. A very poor island but very friendly. Unlike a lot of advertising, Sandals brochures and wetsite is VERY accurate and detailed. If you don't already have the big color glossy book with details of all properties call for it. You can e-mail me with a specific question if you'd like.

I agree with Kevin. We were there 3 years ago and just loved it! Make reservations for ALL restaurants on the day you arrive (best restaurants - LaToc and Kimonos). They fill up very quickly. Sign up for the champagne sunset cruise, a.k.a. the booze cruise. What a blast! Don't bother with the deep sea fishing - didn't catch anything but a headache from the diesel fuel! Waste of money! Bring LOTS of sunscreen. Don't know about the waterskiing (didn't go), but we saw a few people who did go, and they never had to wait in line.

Hope this helps. If you have specific questions, feel free to e-mail me.

Thanks for the advice! Does anyone know if the ski equipment is decent, I prefer a double booted slalom ski? Also friends may join us for the trip but will be staying at Sandals Halycon. Should we switch to Halycon or stay with Sandals?

I can't answer your question regarding the skis, but you might be able to have your travel agent call down to the resort to find out. In regards to switching resorts, why don't you stay at St. Lucia (La Toc)and have your friends stay at Halcyon? The two resorts are only 10 minutes from each other, then you'll be able to see and use both resorts! But if you both want to stay at the same resort, I would definitely stay at La Toc.

Thanks, that's what we were thinking. It seems that Sandals St. Lucia is already booked up for when we are going so our friends would have to stay at Halycon. We figured that would probably be best so we could enjoy both resorts by having a room at each one. We are considering doing the Soufriere Day Sail and possibly the Sunset Sail Cruise. Is this a good idea or should we just do 1 of them and a rain forest tour? I enjoy lounging around the beach/pool and soaking up the sun, so I don't want to waste any valuable time or money unless there is a excellent tour offered. Has anyone been on any "must see" sightseeing tours?

Our trip to St Lucia is coming quickly and our friends decided not to go. We still would like some feedback regarding sightseeing and waterskiing. Any info would be great!
