GO FOR THE SUITE! my husband and i stayed in a lowest level concierge suite and considered it a great value for what you get. first of all, you get first crack at all restaurant reservations, which can fill up fast. second, you have a full bar at your disposal, which is replenished daily or after a phone call. this came in handy when we wanted bottles of water for the pool (which other guests had to buy at the gift shop). plus, we were able to ask for bottles of wine to be delivered to our room--also not ususal unless asked for and in a suite. third, the suites are located outside of the main hotel building, so you are not housed in a 6 story hotel building with tons of other people/noise--our room was a 2 story, 1 bedroom honeymoon suite and we had 1 neighbor next to us and one above us. lastly, suite check in is an air conditioned room where they serve you wine or cocktails upon your arrival, and the orientation is with only other suite people--smaller group, faster process, and again better dinner reservation process. eat at la toc, the italian place at halcyon, and kimonos for sure. we saved la toc for our last night and were not disappointed.

write back if you have any other questions==we would be happy to answer questions. we loved the suite service/sandals so much we are going back in may to dunn's river in jamaica--can't wait!

susan and tim

I wouldn't think the suite would be worth much more. Our room was perfectly quiet, but we didn't ask around if other peole were bothered by noise. Making reservations is simple. We made them with no problems after we got to our room. It took about one minute. We didn't bother to do the orientation, but I can't imagine it is much dif. if you have a suite. We had all the alcohol we wanted, readily available at all times, so wine being delivered to the room wouldn't apeal to us, so maybe if you are really into drinking, the suite would appeal to you.

the weekend we were there it was super crowded, so we felt the suite concierge service was well worth the money. we met and spoke with many people who did not stay in a suite--they had to wait in big, long lines for dinner reservations, and often they didn't get their first or second choices. some had to eat at off times or had to dine at the same restaurant more than once and never got to go to the restaurant(s) they had planned on visiting. we really liked the check in service, reservation process, and customer service that we received via the suite concierge. and yes, it was very nice to sit on our patio and have a cocktail or glass of wine before going to dinner--just the 2 of us, instead of having to go to one of the resort bars with everyone else. it all depends on what you are looking for--service is very important to us, so we enjoyed having that type of "personal touch" service. we also liked the bigger suite rooms, but if you don't plan on being in your room that much, then that may not be important to you. whatever you choose, we hope you have a great time!
